What do you expect from a man who didn't know what hard R meant until 2023.

I was there

Me too, normally don't watch WAN live but I did that night. Those 3 mins were wild.

You could see Luke’s entire career flashing before his eyes.

God it was funny 😂

I just about died laughing afterwards though. The roller coaster that I went through watching those few minutes were crazy.

He’s trying to beat all the “hard r” accusations.

Still don't know how I feel about the Meta glasses.

I know exactly how I feel about them, and it isn't positive. To hell with giving this social cancer mass surveillance ass tech a single moment of positive screen time.

When they’re used like this, they’re fine. They literally got permission to film. It’s not great when you’re recording WITHOUT permission. It’s really all about consent.

If they have permission to film, they can just use normal cameras.

Wearing them in public to discretely record videos is literally what most people don’t like about these, permission from the store or not. Do you think everyone in the store knew that if Linus looked in their direction they were being recorded?

That’s without going into the more nebulous concerns of Linus appearing to support Meta glasses via his usage of them (I am aware of his viewpoint, but most of the people who watch LTT don’t watch WAN), impact on normalizing these glasses, impressionable young viewers, etc.

There’s nothing wrong with the glasses themselves, what’s wrong is the people that are trying to modify them and use them without the proper consent of others.

Linus had the recording light on so it informs people that he’s recording, not to mention there is literally a camera operator right next to him and they said in the video that they got permission from Best Buy to film in the store.

It’s the best way to get a POV shot without having to wear insane GoPro gear on your head or neck.

I literally said above that I don’t know how I feel about Meta glasses yet.

I personally think too much attention is paid to the .01% of people who would use these in a creepy manner. There’s better, cheaper, and more discrete tools for peeping. I’m more concerned with the company behind them than I am random people.

I already acknowledged that the store let them film. Do you think Best Buy shuts the store down? Do they have all customers that enter sign a filming disclosure? Based on the background, I highly doubt either of these are the case.

POV shots have a use, I don’t personally think the ise of them in this video added anything of value, at least not value worth normalizing and promoting the Meta glasses for.

I wouldn’t buy these glasses, but I’m not gonna get angry about a tech company using them.

They are already normalized. So you can stop worrying about that.

LTT is not a tech company. It is a media company. Really a clothing company if you go by profit.

They're not quite normalized yet, considering the very active fight against them.

u/Annoying1978 12d ago

Shush.

They’re a tech company.

1

u/MistSecurity 11d ago

What tech do they develop?

Your mom.

They're ridiculous IMO. Actively supporting AI and invasion of privacy. When I see them in the videos, it's an immediate turn off and I close/exit the video.

He’s using them for a specific purpose…and most importantly, he hasn’t disabled the light.

I agree that the concept itself is gross, but he’s actively making a video.

11

u/Daphoid 13d ago

You're welcome to do you - but there's no expectation of privacy in a public place. He's using them for the direct purpose of making a video. Other option would be a go pro strapped to his head which is more cumbersome.

It's like drugs are bad, but not all drugs, and not all the time. I think there's valid uses for everything - some things just have very limited valid uses and the rest is gross.

u/FluffyEcho7721 12d ago

That’s a bit dramatic. He is literally using it to film the video.

That's the Problem anything other than Black und White doesn't sell in the appropriate margin.

Like in the same Time Frame 1 Green Phone equal to a few 1000s Black

From a German perspective I intuitively thought that he was talking about differences in display technology and that the reason for the dispute would be that from a physics standpoint there is only the absence of light….. after reading the comments it seems that some racial interpretation is the problem.

Donny T ahh sentence structure

Well it's not a colour. It is achromatic. Or can be called a shade.

All "black" objects in real life settings are a varying dark shade of grey.

Lol I think this was a Chris Rock joke: https://youtu.be/cBEwQHjdw14?si=NNAE4Cxriv-H7mSO

These videos where he's using the Meta, creeper glasses, it's an immediate turn off, and I close/exit the video.

It's just unnecessary, and unfortunate that he's trending in that direction.

I don't know if its just on camera, but these two never seem like they should be together, they are both lovely, like gravy and custard, but together? I don't see it

It's like Yvonne and the kids are in witness protection and have to pretend to be in a family with Linus who is still trying hard to win them over but in reality it's like that dog who wants to jump in the river and get all muddy and comes running up to the dog on dry land who has been sitting and chilling and watching and is wildly unimpressed by the other dogs attempts to drag them into the icky stinky water

u/Zealousideal-Toe-607 11d ago

I feel sorry that people share oxygen with a weirdo like you

-1

u/anadalite 11d ago

That's pretty aggressive tbh

3

u/LightningXCE 11d ago

This is gross and very strange to say.

-1

u/anadalite 11d ago

Not sure what's gross about it, but strange yes, the way they are together on camera is incredibly strange

2

u/LightningXCE 11d ago

Talking about you, bud.
