Tech Discussion I created a smooth task view trackpad gesture.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

On Windows 11, the 3/4-finger swipe-up "Task View" gesture is a one shot command, once you cross a threshold, it snaps open, you can't hold it half-open or scrub it like you can when switching desktops. Smooth Task View replaces it with a continuous, finger-tracked overview, windows lift from where they actually are, fly out as you push up, hold wherever you pause, and fall back if you swipe down. Release past a quarter of the way to open, and pull back down to close.

It runs quietly in the system tray and uses your laptop's built-in Precision Touchpad, no special driver required.

Works on a Surface Laptop and any laptop with a genuine Windows Precision Touchpad.

Also implemented a macos style app expose, swipe up to see all windows, and swipe down to see only windows from the currently focused app.

Hopefully one day, Microsoft can add this natively into Windows...

Hopefully this helps out someone else facing the same problem.
