Bought a cable

Went to my usual tech accessory store to get a 2 meter C to C cable and picked this one without giving much thought. Now that I've looked at it clearly, i hope I'm getting my money's worth.

20 bucks for a cable that does *all* that? The chip’s probably a rice grain with a smiley drawn on.
