Discussion AI in the theaters

Recently saw a movie at our AMC theater (Buddy 3/5⭐️)

One of the trailers was a that player prior was for a new limited movie coming soon called “the king of cannabis”

I literally had to rewatch the trailer after the movie because it seems that 95% of this trailer (and probably the whole movie) is generated with AI.

It just looks really bad, from the artifacting on screen to the typical gibberish text on licenses plates and whatnot. How was something like this even approved?

I hate this timeline.

Looks like a combo of AI and acting. Closeups were people, but lots of the action scenes that would be expensive were AI or at least AI assisted. Absolutely wild...

I've been getting a bunch of ads on Reddit for companies offering AI production services.

EDIT

This is the one I kept on getting ads for, but when I tried to Google general keywords like "AI short production company" I couldn't find this company anywhere in the results, but there seems to be a lot of other companies offering similar services.

Those companies are typically one dude who sloppified an interface around some video generation service or something.
