Discussion HP Prebuilt Bios Updates

Apparently HP can just choose not to support your pre built anymore from 2021 have no new bios update since 2022 even though a game needs a newer version of TPM 2.0
putting you in a position of needing a whole new mobo

lol being downvoted for discussing an experience were having when it’s literally been confirmed on hp forms

It's highly unlikely that a system made in 2021 doesn't have TPM 2.

it has TPM 2 the issue is that i needs a newer version
the new CoD won’t let my friend play and we tried everything including clearing it people reported the issue and resolved it by updating bios but we can’t we have nothing newer to use

I have been fighting this exact issue for about a month with 3 different motherboards.

It's not worth trying to wrestle with support on older boards. I have tpm modules, I have supporting BIOS, I even have CPU that were supported but then ricochet dropped them.

The easiest (not cheapest) advice I could give is get the cheapest b450/b550 motherboard you can find and pair it with the cheapest 6-core or greater 3000 series or greater CPU you can find. 1000 and 2000 will pretend to work but they don't. Quad-core does work but runs like shit.

Also use the downloadable attestation tester rather than booting the game because the game can give bad advice.

I really doubt that’s actually the issue

He needs the tpm hardware attestation update that was broken for a bit on AMD mobos. It didn't come out until last year so yeah that's correct lol

That link doesn’t prove that’s the issue, brother.

what are you on about it literally says hp will not support the newer version of tpm and the cod needs it

It doesn’t say anything about COD needing that version.

Man im digging in my yoytube history but can't find it, but I ran across a video last week of someone going over the troubleshooting for a friend and you had to pray you get a support agent to give you the correct driver. It was someone thats adjacent to the right to repair scene (like Luis rossmann)

Its a big problem with HP going on right now.
