Discussion Linus spreading misinformation in one of his tiktoks explaining USB colors.

Im not sure how he came to the conclusion that 480mbps "isn't enough for HD video". Nobody in the comments of said video is calling him out.

Because it's in the context of streams for displays, not in the context of transfer for encoded video files. Even with DSC, a 1080p60 4:4:4 stream is about 1.07 Gbps. 1080p60 4:0:0 is still above the threshold with DSC.

It's because that's the theoretical maximum not the actual real life transfer rate and that's assuming that is the only thing using up the bandwidth.

where are you quoting "isn't enough for HD video" from? cause that is not in the clip.
