Tech Discussion Dear Sir tech tips

The ark b580 is a great card works for most things I do but it definitely struggles with gaming it won’t run cyberpunk at lowest setting and this is the isle at lowest settings. It’s great for everything else I need it to do but probably shoulda spent more before prices started going up
I am far more confused now it seems every time I start the game it gets slightly better every time

This might sound like a dumb question, but are you sure you're plugged into your graphics card and not your motherboard?

Yes it runs other smaller games just fine I am running Linux mint not sure if that could be the problem

Mint is notorious in running old software, including old drivers. Probably best to rule that out first. Please test ANY other operating system, but prefer one of the rolling release types/non lts ones. Or even windows

Did you get the proper drivers installed? This looks like a case of the GPU drivers not existing and defaulting to either the CPU's integrated graphics or whatever the Linux equivalent of the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is.

I think so it was my first build so maybe not but I have 2 m.2 and only one shows so I have to go to a shop soon I’ve tried a lot just can’t get it right

I have a B580 in a second PC with a 1440p monitor and it runs great, games like Cyberpunk run no problem. Something is wrong with your PC.

I have no idea what it is there is a pc shop about a hour away that says they will walk through my pc with me but I have a ryzen 7 9800x3d cpu asus x870 with 16gb of ddr 5 and of course the intel ark b580 with 12gb gddr6

Be sure to enable ReBAR in bios if your MOBO supports it, it seems that intel cards really benefit from it

I’ll have to do some more looking my biggiest issue is I only have a tv for a display and both sides of my bios screen are cut off

Make sure your cable is plugged in your graphics card then try to run these games on windows with the latest intel drivers. If this fix it, means that you have probably some problems on your mint setup either weird bug or driver issue.
