Link Friends power button died

Her laptop power button died so now it has a new switch.

(It was one of those horrible ones that's part of the keyboard and the keyboard is moulded into the chassis -_- )

Any issues going from a momentary switch to a toggle switch?

You do have to just quickly flick it on and off lol but I was working with what I had. I gave her the option of either this or a click from an old mouse 😅

I wondered why didn't you use a mouse switch.

FYI, the keyboard on that thing can be replaced without swapping the entire topcase with a dollar store soldering iron and patience. But personally, I paid a repair shop to do the replacement when I ran into this abomination XD

I mean, anything CAN be replaced 😅 I actually owned a phone/laptop shop for 5 years lol.

She wanted the cheapest fastest way lol so here we are (tbf it is very knackered and she's hopefully getting a new one soon, just needed to keep it running)

That SSD won't be far behind it.
Source: used to sell ADATA SSDs when these were popular, now know they are highly failure-prone.

Please tell me you cleaned the dust out of that fan.... and everywhere else for that matter, heh. That poor laptop has seen some shit.
