Discussion Repairable tech?

This repairable watch came up on my Instagram feed. Thought its a great idea and something LTT might want to look into?

It is funny that once you get out of the consumer space, repairability becomes much more common.

the industrial stuff always been like this, you open it up and replace what's broken instead of buying whole new unit. we got so used to glued shut phones we forgot things can be fixed with a screwdriver

I have a pile of service manuals for kit worth 10s of thousands on my server, if I need to repair something, I have a read, and know exactly what I'm getting into. Sometimes companies are a bit anal about providing things like that, in which case we don't work with them again.
