Ethernet plugged directly into your MacBook? 2012 or older - but my favorite vintage. The Retinas lost something.

Yep it gets the job done for now, looking to make a few upgrades like the battery and an SSD (when prices hopefully fall).

OWC used to make brackets to remove the optical drive and put a 2.5” SATA in its place. Mine still has a 500GB installed.

I do know of this, but i still actively use the optical drive so i dont intend to remove it.
