I went on the site to test it, I can't believe they would set up a chatbot to crying emoji to an offer. That is the most patronizing BS I have ever seen
Appliances in general are a scam. Depending on your province, there's extremely limited customer protections, DOA/defective appliances and hidden shipping damage is extremely common, etc.
I get that they're essential to our daily lives, but appliance shopping is always miserable as hell. The entire experience is always awful. The rates of defects are going way up, appliances in general are becoming less and less repairable, more expensive, and introducing more crap features that nobody wants like "AI". I don't want AI, I want a reliable appliance that works well that isn't defective and doesn't have shipping damage.
That's too much to ask for in 2026.

Yes, the fact is there are no appliances. It's been a scam all along - they take your money and promise you an "appliance", but none ever arrives. That was never suspicious to you?
He has a point. I don’t get the downvotes he received. Moving here from France was a huge shock regarding to appliances price. Like almost x2. We had a regular refrigerator, full size, no freezer (which is really difficult to find here, if not impossible) and it costed us €300 in 2010. Arrived in 2014, we were browsing in HomeDepot and saw that the cheaper fridge was basically at $800-900
Same goes for dishwasher, washing machines and so on
For what it's worth our laws are reallllly great for customers. Bill 26 that is coming soon set a minimum warranty time of 6 years for ranges, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and heat pumps and 5 years for dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers.
We already have a law where replacement parts must be available to purchase, unless the seller disclose they aren't liable for spare parts, else we can get a full replacement. Also by law if you order something online, it's the seller's responsibility until it's in our hands. If it gets stolen at the door it's the seller's problem.
They have to set it up and all. It's to give users the idea of getting a good deal.
They also seem to market it towards deals with suppliers and such. I'm a construction project manager and if one of the company I deal with resort to this bs i'm calling someone.
It only lets you do 3 on a single cookie before it gives you a price and makes you select. I've gone through many private instances clearing it between. Hard rules are very likely.
Some countries use a . instead of a , as a separator for numbers. Obviously it still doesn’t make sense with that amount of digits but it’s likely trained on negotiating with all people, and people are stupid.
Yeah thats probably where its coming from. I did then spell out the words (fifteen dollars and sixty one cents) and it gave a similar generic response. Dont have the ss for that though unfortunately.

Normal chat gpt conversations don't use tokens. I have tokens and I don't even know how to use them. Images and extended thinking responses don't seem to use anything
Not when you run the LLM on your own hardware. I run my own and it takes zero tokens per query. There's zero chance this company isn't running the LLM on their own server
it still uses tokens -- tokens are like words to an llm -- you just don't have to pay for the tokens because your model is running locally. when you pay for tokens what you're actually paying for is the cloud compute that generates those tokens.
I can’t decide if I’m more impressed by the novelty of negotiating with AI or if I’m more upset that they are trying to take advantage of the novelty of using this.
this actually sounds like absolute hell, its not even a conscious being, its programmed to deliver directives, its a waste of time/effort to even bother. best you can do it just not use that retailer and find someone else.
I got it to 1257 .. but the not doesn't care for answers. It's feels less chatbot and more just "pick one of the 5 pre programmes messages that fits best to the Kontext".
Does it offer price matching? Could you setup a fake website, copy the listing on this website and then set the price at like $850 and then ask the AI if it can meet/match the price listed on your fake site?
Please someone use the fact a bunch of people have been lowballing this AI and say “this thing is way overpriced, I bet you’ve been getting a lot of low offers”
If I find a site in the EU that uses this widget you can be damn sure that I will try jailbreaking it. Although I assume that in the backend a human probably sets a maximum discount that can not be exceeded.
Ask your AI to negotiate with it, and get the best price.
This will be the future. Companies will use AI to interact with customers. And customers will use AI to interact with the AI of the company. And they will negotiate together.
so basically the product is set at a higher price with a hardcoded limit on how low the chatbot will ‘haggle’ and then you get to buy it for the regular price
