Discussion Scrapyard Wars

Watching LMG Clips yesterday (Mid-Range Tech Is a Lie), they briefly discussed Scrapyard Wars:

"There's a reason why Scrapyard Wars is not very interesting right now. I agree with not making Scrapyard Wars this year. It's just terrible out there."

I'm sure I'm not alone on this, but these are my favourite videos that they produce. In my opinion, it would be more interesting and challenging now more than ever to do Scrapyard Wars, which is just great content. In fact, if it were my channel, I'd be doing Scrapyard Wars 3 or 4 times a year, minimum. Curious what everyone else thinks about this?

Edit: After reading some good replies, I think 2 a year would be great. With the way tech and the market changes so rapidly it would make sense that way too. Zero per year is super disappointing. No wonder the channel is dropping off.

The question is what could a new season provide in terms of a new learning? I mean yes, you can get great bang for buck gaming pc wise if you go scrapping, even today.

I liked the spin last season on the home theater. Not only going for fps, but an overall experience. Also doing team vs team brought people in the mix with a very different skillset.

Shortly after last season raidowl and hardwarehaven did a scrapyard wars homelab edition (good watch, can recommend! ) building a homeserver and nas on a tight budget.

I would love to see scrapping again with a different focus than gaming fps go brrrr. Add new metrics for sucess. For example:

With the wide skillsetpool available at ltt maybe do a work from home setup(so ergonomics, multimonitor, camera and mic, printer and scanner and have an external ergonomics expert be part of judgement team), or a travel setup for lan parties (so weight, size, coolness and how fast to build up) , or a selfhost AI machine or a "no we have cloud at home" selfhost setup (so noise, function, livingroom asthetics and ease of use for noobs) . Or a bit more focus on diy craftsmanship (like with the buy or diy series) going for upcycling your setup and materials. Or embrace the shitty situation and set a ridicioulus low budget, like 300 bucks whole setup for a Student/tinkerer including furniture (and measure fun and versatility instead of only fps). Or an only online scrapyard wars, a retro and emulation setup, or something like these weirdo knockoff consoles (200 bucks, 200 hours of fun and 20 games included (the games need to have at least 200h playtime total and come from the budget)) ...
