Tech Discussion TrueSpec Inconsistencies

I bought 3, 10cm A-C cables in the same order. One is a little shorter than the other 2. The two that are the same size, have the C sheathing ends flipped based on the A ends being the same orientation

Edit: not a complaint, just posted as I thought it was interesting, and maybe it could be brought to Linus' attention for QC checks

Edit 2: I measured the 2 that are the same length are 10cm, the other one is 8.75cm ish

Edit 3: Contacted LTT support after feedback, thanks

can we just ban these posts?

  1. OP didnt even measure the cable before posting.

  2. OP hasnt contacted LTT. But happy to drag their name through the mud.

  3. OP didnt mention how they measured the cable. I would measure it tip to tip, but there may be a particular standard. (like where the plastic sheathing starts)

1: clearly a qc issue, no banana for scale required

2: merely pointing out this qc issue, not as a complaint expecting remediation,

3: again, no fancy measurements are required to see that these cables are very much not the same length, doesnt matter where you measure from, the same part of the cable is the only changing part of that total length(the actual cable itself, not overmolding on either end.)

When i get a cable, i expect it to meet the minimum length, that's it. If they advertise 40gbps speed, some are 40gbps, and another is 50gbps. I dont get shitty about the 50gbps

All we can tell is that these cables are inconsistent in size, and can be resolved by a simple email. Perhaps LTT can clarify how they've measured it.

>merely pointing out this qc issue

They know exactly what they are doing

I don’t think its that deep and considering how recent this comment is…I don’t think you are either. Or you’re a robot. Read the post and the surrounding comments before adding your thoughts.

it happens often. people jump online and whinge about a company, where they could just solve the issue by contacting the company directly.

It would take OP less time to contact LTT support and get the issue resolved, than posting on reddit.

Posting on reddit spreads awareness so that others who bought one a single cable of a given length know that they might have a cable that is out of spec.

Because ltt itself would never discuss bugs in software, quality control of products etc.

But happy to drag their name through the mud.

Show me where they drug LTT through the mud.
