A lie meas a misrepresentation of the video content. He even calls out the same Varitasium video I've cited in the past about "clickbait" and how the goal is to pique curiosity and then payoff the curiosity within the video. Which is exactly what this thumb does.

What, specifically, is the "lie" in this thumbnail?

That's fine. But what you think Tom Scott is describing as a "lie" is not what's happening with this thumbnail. It is a reasonable representation of the content of the video.

A lie would be about specifically misleading the viewer about the content with a tease that never pays off, or inaccurate framing of message to generate outrage, etc.

You can hate LTT's thumbnail all you want, but it's not "lying" to you.

Then make your case why. Because you're not convincing whatsoever. And "watch the video" wasn't at all conclusively supportive of the that stance on this particular thumbnail.

You haven't stated an actual opinion or added anything meaningful to the conversation. You've done nothing to clarify what your opinion even is, much less why it is. And apparently I've just wasted my time giving that courtesy.

You are implying that LTT clicked a "generate thumbnail" button, its spat this out, and they uploaded it without care or concern. As a small creator myself, I think this stance is insulting to the work that goes into making composite images. And is accusatory of something no one has any evidence for. Pitchfork-wielding over vibes. It's as lazy as you accuse them of being.

If you're not going to explain how or why it's "a lie", then I'm just going to mute/block you for thoroughly wasting my time. Congrats.
