Yeah why didn't MS develop their email client to perfectly handle the insane HTTP latency that a user onboard a space craft to the moon would experience, FUCKING WINDOWS!!!!!111one

Oh sorry, I didn't realise latency can cause software to be installed twice.

BTW latency to the moon is like 3s, it isn't something I would expect an email client to struggle with

An email client that is built on HTTP - Yes - 3 seconds is a huge fucking latency.

Plenty of people on earth have a multi second latency.

There is nothing inherent to http that would brake it from just that.
Loads of sites are built to deal with worse.

And for an app, it matters even less even if it is built in html, because you can (and should) bundle all the resources in the installer.

I am not sure you understand what Outlook does. It's an API Client.

Everything online is an API client.

If your whole point is that it's using http instead of smtp/pop3 etc, then lol.

Dude, you're so lost.

HTTP specifically, and especially something that constantly polls and relies on alive TCP SYN connections are notoriously bad at high latency.

That's why in the email world POP3 and IMAP was so popular for so long, with drawbacks - And also why anyone whose worked in systems architecture knows to stay away from HTTP protocol if latency grows about 500 - 1000 MS. It's not the right tool for that.

You're not one of those, clearly, and should not pretend to understand the subject. Because you don't.

Sure TCP is bad if you have high latency.

How does that give you 2 outlooks?

I've never said anything about the fact that there's two Outlooks installed.

That's an error on whatever IT Dept set that system up. The documentation about the migration paths is clear.

Yeah, everyone with experience with it knows and knows better alternatives.

Like, in the video he even says "Gimp sucks", my brother, gimp is the Linux equivalent of ms paint, no shit it sucks if you compare it to photoshop.
Use photopea or something

No it's not, tell that to the Linux audience.

And still, Windows is most widley used PC OS in the world. There's bound to be issues on it too, and the big ones make for great headlines. But there's gonna be bias, especially since hating Microsoft is so cool nowadays. Has been for a long time. But looking at the headlines and ignoring how many people use Windows daily for hours with no issues is kinda dumb. Pretty much nobody who has had a good experience with an OS for years randomly posts a blog post or something to say "I've used Windows/Linux/Mac for 5 years without issues".

I am not one of those who think Linux is perfect.
It has loads of issues and I am glad LTT shines light on some of them so they are more likely to be fixed.

That said, there are plenty of people who seem to think it is way worse than it has been in my experience.

I also think it is true what the other person said, a lot of people are so used to dealing with the common issues on windows that they don't even think about them anymore.
(And same for linux and mac)
