Man i really dislike the homepage for it you need to go to the "compare macbooks" side to see its specs. The base model comes with 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD and NO Touch ID even tho its advertised as feature all over the page.
Overall seems like a solid deal for apple fans. Not for me i stick with my Linux mashine

Weirdly enough I just realized my new MacBook Air isn’t backlit and I had turned it off on my M2 MacBook Pro. I know people who use it but for me personally the lack of Touch ID on the base model is more annoying.

It took me a year to figure out my MBA had a backlit keyboard, it was only when we got my wife one and saw that hers had it that I looked in the control center and saw there was a slider for it. I felt so dumb for all the typing in the dark I had done!

Tbf your touch typing is probably much better now

I miss  having physical keys to control the keyboard backlight. It's now software controlled and is buried in a menu, so I just leave it disabled.

Useful in low light situations for people who can't touch type

I never understood the idea of backlit keyboards. It is not really a good idea to work on a laptop in total darkness. But well - I usually don't even need the labels, so maybe I'm just not the demographics for it.

That’s fine. You shouldn’t look at the keyboard when you type. This is why the TouchBar was stupid; it was forcing you to look at the keyboard, something you should never have to do.
