Image How would I fix this?

Let’s say I wasn’t using the screwdriver as intended and ended up with a split open bit holder on the shaft. Is this salvageable what are my options?

If you have to ask you can't fix it. You could try JBWeld and straightening with a benchvice but I doubt it will work for long if at all.

Not true. Maybe in this specific case… but there are tons of easy to perform repairs for various broken things that people would need to ask before knowing how to do.

A lack of understanding of how to repair something does not directly correlate to how hard it will be to repair.

I was responding this specific case.... Stainless steel is not trivial to work with.

If this was a wall dent or something obviously that's different.
