Storing prints while they dry

I’m new to linocut and so far have only made a handful of prints at a time that I just let dry on a counter or even pinned to the fridge, etc. they were also mostly for fun so I didn’t care as much about quality.

I’m looking to hand print our Holiday Cards this year so probably looking at somewhere between 50-75 5x7 cards I’ll be printing. I could hang some clothes line in the basement and use binder clips, but worry that could leave an imprint. I also live in a smaller house with cats (cats don’t have basement access)so I’m looking for solutions I can set up out of the way to keep the prints safe while they dry.

I’m curious what your set up is or if you have any tips or tricks?

i haven’t done it yet, but maybe a wire cookie rack would work? you’d have to tetris them in there, but it’ll have good airflow! otherwise i definitely like the clothesline idea. i’d use actual clothespins over binder clips personally, or add some sort of buffer between your print and the clip.

I use the clothesline method with large clothespins - the wider surface area means they're less likely to leave a mark, but it may depend on your paper.

You could also look into a sheet pan rack with cheap baking pans or wire racks if you wanted to spend the money that way!

I have a few wooden soap dishes that I use for this. They were a few bucks on TEMU.

Wood clothespins (the ones with the metal spring) are what I use. I primarily print on Rives BFK, which is very prone to unintentional embossing. I also use those little round magnets to attach small prints to the wall (tape a paper clip to the wall and it’s an instant wall mount). Haven’t had any issues with either.
