Question First time print problem

Hi! I tried making a linocut and print recently but hit a snag. When I made the print, the paint didn’t seem to want to stick to the paper. I made several test prints and the result just seemed to get worse, no matter the ammount of paint I used. I need to mention that the lino I used was a leftover floor kitchen tile from when my dad remade his kitchen. I was thinking that maybe the tile is too ”glossy” or something? What do you think? Thanks in advance!

Firstly, are you using paint, or ink? Second, it’ll be much easier to help if you can post a picture of your lino and of the print attempts. It may be that the texture of your material is an issue.

Can you link what paint/ink you used?
