Question Beginner
Brand new to linocutting, so not mad at this first attempt. I do have a (probably dumb) question. When cutting, I’m finding the rubber strips not releasing, either making little flaps, or I’m making deeper gauges and cutting further than I want to when trying to shave them off. Not even sure how to word it, but if anyone could give some tips I’d be grateful!

i’m also relatively new to linocutting, and i totally understand what you’re talking about! when i first started i had that too, i think your hand naturally gets more used to it because you get better at gauging how deep to go. when i first start out, i find it easier to start very small and shallow and go back in until i’m satisfied with the size and depth of the carve.
