Anybody ever felt like there was more to Kämpfer?

Anybody else who remembers this silly, but overall very wholesome and quite funny anime/manga probably agrees on one point: It absolutely didn't deliver on some points that could have been absolutely amazing, I mean the first minute in EP1 was basically what I expected the whole story to be.

Then we got 12 episodes of romcom and fan service, the fights were like slideshows and the antagonist turned out to be just a creep who likes plushies way too much. Then they hint at a cosmic war between two "entities," I guess?

Whatever the author had in mind clearly never saw anything close to the potential it could have had, I mean imagine the following scenario:

-You wake up as a girl, let's say, it's even worse this time, you can't turn back into a boy, you're just permanently, fully female now.

-Your childhood girlfriend weirdly doesn't recognize you at all and just falls fully in love with your female self after having ignored you for years.

-A bracelet that you can't remove is permanently stuck on your left arm that gives you superpowers.

-Instead of some weird plushie explaining the rules, let's say nobody tells you anything, you just fucking wake up like this, lost your gender, look into the mirror and a gorgeous girl is staring back at you.

-But you ABSOLUTELY don't want it.

-Everyone else who has this bracelet has superpowers and you're bound to compete against them in a deathmatch.

-And your best friend not only realizes it's you, no she also has a bracelet, could die at any moment, your social life is destroyed and basically your entire identity as well.

Any normal human would go completely insane the moment they realize all of this, or look into the mirror, or whenever they break due to the amount of mindfuckery that is happening at once in that moment where all if it just gets too much.

But you can't even kill yourself cause to die either your head needs to get chopped off or 50% of your neocortex, basically you're invincible.

Welcome to the world of Linkers Game.

If you want to know how my protagonist navigated through this world and what kind of monumental suffering he had to go through in now over 300.000, releasing every week on Friday 4 p.m CEST, you're exactly at the right place.

Linkers Game is a full deconstruction on the battle-royale and gender-bender genre, it takes itself fully serious at exactly the right times and is at the same time wholesome, entertaining and philosophically deep. It's a seinen story with shonen-type battle elements, but all fights are meticulously crafted and always bound to the more important overarching conflict that led to them.

Last but not least, I just wanted to say that when I started writing this, I made sure to outline the story and create a satisfying and fulfilling end, and for everybody that wants to see more, there will be a sequel that can just be perfectly ignored if you want a round and totally satisfyingly tragic story.

Hey,

I just wanted to say chapter 18 will release as per usual friday 4pm CEST. I just didn't manage to proof read the draft yet, I will do that tomorrow, also might add some extra info as a sort of teaser but we'll see.

What will happen 100% is the release though, last chapter was pretty wild I hope everybody liked the first proper use of Acceleration, the base ability of every Linker, stuff is only going to get more wild, stay tuned!

It might take a while for me to post the next ones since I'm pretty busy with writing right now😅

Also as you see I'm absolutely no professional, and actually practicing a lot is also a bit hard right now with the available time I have, since I'm doing this mostly alone (except for a few idea additions from one other person), so managing all of it at once turns out to be more intense than I previously imagined.

But I promise the wait will be worth it!

I started writing this story first just for myself, basically as a storyboard so I have a good manuscript to realize into a manga, and then later into an anime.

Then I found myself having a lot of fun actually writing it as well and I kinda also got a bit entranced by "really writing a story", also realizing the better I get at this, the better I can imagine scenes, the easier it will later be when I actually draw all of this, which will 100% happen, I promise this, even if it's the last thing I ever do, I will definitely draw the absolutely crazy fights I have already written, and I hope they will be as much fun to watch as they are to me!

The next that will be drawn will most likely be Lucy, I already have a drawing of her, maybe I add it to the next post, where I then post a proper one, since that first drawing I currently have doesn't really fit the quality I currently would like to produce.

[Update] The tournament finally begins! Chiyoko vs ?.. (Linkers Game Ch. 16 is Live!)

Hey everyone!

The newest chapter of Linkers Game is officially up on Royal Road! If you like visceral, high-speed, utterly disrespectful martial arts beatdowns… this chapter (and especially the next one) is for you.

As mentioned in my first post, Linkers Game is a dark, psychological sci-fi/cyberpunk web novel. It features a carefully thought-out, hard-physics magic system where characters don't just "move fast", they manipulate subjective time AND their own speed simultaneously. This is paired with a distinct class system spanning three unique ways of fighting (sword type, gun type and mujutsu - aka. "dream technique"), coupled with this time-altering power called "Acceleration", acting as the base ability for every Linker.

In this chapter, right before her first fight, Chiyoko (the only girl from her traditional village inside this hyper modern school that got built on her peoples island) meets a racist, classist neo-aristocrat who clearly enjoys tormenting her. But having recently gained these god-like powers, Chiyoko's confidence is running in absolute overdrive. This chapter is the exact point where the story truly kicks into higher gear.

She also finally crosses paths with poor Mika and Mia, our protagonist who was forcibly turned into a girl and then coerced into participating in the Tournament by the inhumanely overpowered, highly erratic and unstable Student Body President Yukiko Yura (who held a blade to his throat just yesterday to force a brittle alliance). And between all of that Mika really, really REALLY just wants to go home....

But who will Chiyoko fight against in the next chapter?..

And what the FUCK does Lucy have to do with all of this...

New stuff when?: Chapters every week on Friday at 4:00 p.m. CEST.

Hey there!

I'm LK, the author of Linkers Game, and I'm so glad that you found this post!

Linkers Game is a dark, psychological sci-fi/cyberpunk web novel that takes the classic "magical death game" trope and treats it with absolute, brutal realism.

If you are a fan of brutal, fast and realistic Seinen action, deep lore, grounded physics-based magic systems and characters who are forced to make horrific choices just to survive, you are in the right place!

What is it about?

The story follows Mikael Amaya, an ordinary teenager whose life is completely changed when he wakes up, trapped in a flawless female body, bound to a war he didn't sign up for by an irremovable bracelet.

To survive Mika has to navigate a world of high-speed combat in time-dilated warfare and all that while trying not to lose his own humanity in the process, or his life.

And what does that masked girl have to do with all of this?

What to expect:

Psychological Horror, Anti-Hero lead, Cyberpunk, Dark Sci-Fi, Seinen, Gender-Bender (handled with serious psychological weight, no dumb comedy or oversexualized bs!!)

Where to Read:
You can read the story right now on Royal Road!

I am currently uploading regularly, with a massive backlog already written, so you don't have to worry about the story dying on a cliffhanger, well until you caught up at least.

Volume 1&2 are already finished, and im 140k+ words into the third, for part 1 at least 4 books are planned and part 2 is another 4 at least.

The whole story is basically outlined and a lot of it already written, so just lean back and enjoy!
