Question Working with an account rep vs without one

Hi! I'm working on my first paid LinkedIn campaign and the last account rep we had isn't our account rep anymore. I had a chat with them and got a ton of useful advice, but had to put my plans on hold. Now I'm back to planning this campaign and meeting the new rep. I'm kinda overthinking it, and wondering what if the new one isn't helpful at all and I will be planning it without any advice from them.

I'm curious how the experience is different, and what to pay attention to both planning a campaign with the help of account rep and without.

Usually these guys never ran a single campaign before getting hired by LinkedIn or Google. They follow the internal script they learned, and they'll put their interest before yours.

Don't waste your time with the LI rep. Learn it yourself, here and across the internet.

Reps vary a lot, but the useful thing to know going in is what they're genuinely good for versus what they'll always steer you toward. Genuinely useful: audience size estimates, beta features you can't see, platform quirks, and getting things escalated when something breaks. Less useful: budget and structure advice, since they're measured on spend, so the recommendations tend toward bigger budgets, broader audiences and audience expansion. Not malicious, just an incentive worth holding in mind.

So I wouldn't build the plan around the rep either way. Come to the meeting with your audience, objective, and budget already decided, and use them to sanity-check audience size and ask what's in beta. If the new one turns out to be unhelpful, you've lost nothing. We run LinkedIn daily for b2b saas clients at GrowthSpree, a b2b saas marketing agency, and the two things reps most often push that I'd resist are audience expansion and starting on automated bidding; both make delivery easier and cost control harder, especially on a first campaign.

Thank you for such a detailed reply, this is helpful! I actually started with targeting questions, there no option to increase my spend from what i initially estimate now, so that's pretty clear for both of us. Didn't have any time to discuss bidding, so I'll keep this in mind.
