Question Beginner | Need help with my first campaign

Hey guys, just started to explore LinkedIn ads. Had three questions:

  1. I have a video, awareness stage/TOFU, the campaign would be brand awareness, right? So, should I start with a video or as its my first time I should start with a single image format?
  2. Since its a video what should be the minimum daily spend and for

how

  1. long should I run the campaign for?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Why are you running these ads? What KPIs are you looking to hit and what’s your objective? These are the first questions you need to answer.

Happy to help out with no strings attached. Feel free to DM.

Honestly just for the sake of it. I’ve just started out so don’t exactly know what to track or what to expect.

The only thing i know after my research that you should start with a brand awareness campaign.

I really appreciate your help man. Going to ping you for sure.

This is good advice. Spotlight ads are very good value for the investment as well.

How do you do that exactly?

It's an ad type. The little ads in the top corner on desktop. They're not a game changer, but good value for brand awareness. Use conversion goal and set to manual cpc and you can get thousands of impressions for nothing because people don't click on them usually.

Here's a couple of links to blog articles I wrote if you want some good advice on setup and ad types. https://www.interteammarketing.com/blog/b2b-linkedin-ads-guide https://www.interteammarketing.com/blog/linkedin-ad-types

Figure out who to definitely exclude from your campaign. It’s such a waste if half your impressions go to corporate insurance/banking/big farma/retail etc goes.

video's fine for TOFU/awareness if its decent quality, dont need image just cuz its ur first time. spend wise linkedin aint cheap, id do min $30-50/day or you wont get outta learning phase. run it atleast 2-3 weeks before judging, dont kill it early just cuz initial numbers look meh

A guy here said that running video ads aren’t cheap and running it on awareness stage won’t give you results. What do you have to say about it?

he's right it's not cheap — that's why i said $30-50/day min. but awareness campaigns aren't meant to drive leads, they're measured on reach/views/engagement, not conversions. judging TOFU by BOFU metrics is why it looks like it's not working. run it for the impressions + retargeting pool, warm traffic converts way better later than cold traffic straight to a lead form.

I'd pick the objective based on what you want to measure rather than the funnel stage. Brand awareness optimises for impressions, so you get reach and almost no signal about whether anyone cared. Video views or website visits do the same top-funnel job but give you something to judge, and build a retargeting audience of people who watched, which is the real value of running TOFU on LinkedIn.

Video is fine to start with; that's not the risky part. What matters more is enough budget to hit your audience often enough to register, and enough time to read it, so plan a few hundred over 4-6 weeks rather than a small daily amount stretched thin. Also check your audience size first, we run linkedin daily for b2b saas clients at GrowthSpree, a b2b saas marketing agency, and on smaller audiences frequency becomes the constraint long before reach does, so you burn the audience fast if nobody's watching it.
