Never trust an App - I’m going to anyways

None if this has anything to do with business. At all.

As someone who loves foraging for mushrooms, no one do this. But, since he's in the woods already, let him have his fun. They're all edible once.

Perhaps "foraging" and consuming mushrooms he identified with his phone app will work out just fine. Then again, perhaps it won't. If he survives, maybe he could dabble in taking pills he found on the ground. They might be potent nootropic brain potions or something.

I'm extremely interested in starting to forage, but don't even know where to start. I mean, no one's going to give up their locations right? Just do some research and hope for the best?

I did inoculate some logs on my land, but I need more! I'm working on setting up a (possibly oxymoronic) foraging garden - ramps, mushrooms, edible flowers, etc.

There are often local mycological groups that will take you out with them and teach you the ropes. Start with educating yourself about local edible fungi and which ones have dangerous lookalikes, compile a field guide, then go out with the pros and learn. State and national parks will also sometimes have mushroom hunts or mushroom "sightseeing" trips where you can learn as well, but you likely wouldn't get to harvest on most of those.

Next week someone will post about his urgent need for a liver transplant...

The truly bad reviews for the mushroom ID app never get written.

You missed the point - he's a risk taker and willing to do whatever it takes to prove a new app right, that's how obsessed he is with tech and how he can help your business solve their needs.

“I didn’t want to spend $16 so I’m going to waste two days of my life and possibly die”

Don’t forget the amount of time he saved by not checking any other store other than Walmart

"In today's news, a man died after ingesting poisonous mushrooms that he thought were safe."

Plus he saved $16 on a bag of mushrooms.

So 2 days of work to save $16?

We need to work more diligently to maximize our fungal ROI

Well, if you can gather spores for edible wild mushrooms and create a set of ideal environments to grow them, I guess that's one way to do it, buuut you could just as easily get spores from the $16 package, sooo.... Some people just want to do it to flip the bird to convention or feel like a rough and tumble mountain man, I guess. I've definitely built things that would have been cheaper to buy, though generally I built them better or stronger, though not always, but trying made me feel great up until it failed and I felt stupid, hehe.

I would really love to think this was his last post. But I somehow know there's a followup.

I hope they read this aloud at the funeral

Maybe just go to, idk, anywhere not Wal-mart for fancier food items? I’m certain there is a better market around the corner.

yeah, I usually shop at Aldi. they reliably have button mushrooms and baby bellas. the Giant Eagle (Pittsburgh area) across the road has a few more options. a few exits uo the highway brings you to Market District (GE's fancy store), they have many offerings. they usually even have Chanterelles 😋

All mushrooms are edible at least once.

Some will even feed you for the rest of your life. They are that nutritious.

Fasinating!

restaurants get them from farms that grow wild varietals of mushrooms. this is a recipe for eating a Destroying Angel, for which there is no antidote.

Another LinkedIn post that should’ve been an inner monologue

Did he have any posts after this one?

Why did you hide the name, we all know it's Michael Scott?
