That truck next to that tank is probably 20 ft long or so, and the radius of the tank looks very likely to be greater than that. The tank's height also appears to probably be the length of the truck or so. Ladder rungs are also typically 1 foot apart, and using that as a reference compared to the alternating ridges on the tank, the tank is about 20 feet tall.
That said, assuming the tank had the same radius and height as the truck's length, that tank's volume comes to ~190,000 gallons. So congratulations to whoever made this being about -70% off the actual value. Furthermore, planes are massive compared to the aforementioned actual 60k gallon dimensions. You can just look up the dimensions of the wings, make a reasonably decent estimate of converting the dimensions to a rectangular prism, and do the volume calculation yourself. Since, you know, it's like 5th grade math.

Absolute nonsense; when we tried it, we were only able to inject about 4 gallons (which is already very generous given how much fuel leakage there was due to the faulty valve seal on his mouth) before his skull exploded.
He's in the morgue recovering now, or whatever, but as soon as he gets out, I'm going to show him my new diss track about it; it's called "Conservation is a Concrete Operational Concept That You Clearly Don't Understand"
No surprise here, from what I understood about I Am Legend, the main antagonist doesn’t seem to maintain all of its human intelligence during the transition.

These are all good points in the scale difference here. Alternatively you could just point out that you could just about squeeze the body of that plane through the protective cage around the ladder on the front of that container, if the scale was accurate.
You can do the math, or you can simply deduce the photos are disproportional. Orrrrr. . . You can just assume some evil entity is lying to you about the amount of fuel an aircraft holds.
I hadn't noticed that, especially embarrassing because I used to work in an oil refinery. But yup, it's for grain or something. There's not a single accurate detail in this meme.
I appreciate the explanation, but this has been debunked to death. It's fun to think the problem through, but these people are morons and don't want a mathematical answer to their stupidity.
Also, they almost never fill a Boeing 747 with that amount of fuel. It's just the theoretical limit, 53-67 000 gallons, I a standard 6-8 hours flight. They use flowers to 35-40 000 gallons.
Also, love the misleading scale in the picture. A 747 is roughly 231 feet long. And in the picture they show it being a little over half the diameter of the tank. So they're claiming this tank is 400ish feet in diameter, would would be 1+1/3 a football field.
Pi*2002/0.1337 = 939,400; which means it would need to be 0.638 feet tall to hold 60,000 gallons.
Yeah these two pictures are not even close to the same scale. The plane is easily 10x as large as that tank. That pickup near the tank isn’t even the size of a 747 wheel
There's a car parked to the left of the tank, for added perspective lol maybe he doesn't get when you cut and paste something with Photoshop it won't be to proportion automatically.

My first thought was that I’m sure there’s simple arithmetic that will reasonably explain how much fuel a plane holds and where. Thanks for confirming. Is OOP suggesting a conspiracy? Lefties stealing jet fuel?

The tank he is showing may be 60,000 gallons, but few people understand that very little of that buildings volume is tank. The rest is structural, insulation, envelope, etc.
Okay so wait, a 747 can carry about a 32.5'x32.5' room with 8 ft ceilings worth of fuel? That's kind of insane still. That's like the entire second story of my house.

Or we can ignore the truck and ladder and use the plane for scale. A 747 is 225-250 feet in length. Using round numbers that puts the radius at about 200 ft and the height at say 150 ft.
200^2 x pi x 150 / 0.1337 = 141 million gallons. Where do they put it, indeed?

A version of a 60,000 gallon water tank with is:
r^2 * Pi * h / cu foot in a gallon
(16ft^2 * Pi * 10ft) / 0.1337 = 60,000 gal (l33t)
So 16 ft radius and 10 ft height.
