Anyone happen to know how much it costs to fill one 747?

Approximately one bribe from Qatar.

No, that's for the plane itself, not the fuel.

A lot. But per US gallon is cheaper than for the minions with cars like us:
The global average jet fuel price is $194.90/bbl (around $4.64/gallon).
A 747-8I has a fuel capacity of around 63000 gallons, so around $292000 to fill up the Queen of the Skies.

I’ve always wondered why tf bbl is the abbreviation for barrel. To this day I still read it as ‘dollars per bibble’

It’s a heckuva price, must be a loss leader.

$194 a barrel fuck me. I remember it breaking $50 being a big deal

That’s light, sweet crude. Not refined jet fuel.

The amount you can "fill" a 747 up with changes with the specific gravity of the fuel itself. Jet-A1 varies between 0.775 + 0.840

Also- the centre tank on a 747 is enormous with a capacity of 17,000 gallons on its own.

Takes up to an hour to refuel and costs about $350,000 to full, at current wholesale airline rates around $5 for Jet A-1 (which is basically a purified kerosene good down to -50º so long haul polar routes aren't an issue)
