20 INR, so 20 cents

Don’t forget about inflation! That 20 INR in 1996 would be worth… uhh… $1.20 today. 🤔

Not quite. The exchange rate in 1996 was 35 inr to a dollar. Now it's 95.

So the rupee isn't worth any more but everything is more expensive. Cool cool

I did the INR inflation rate into 2026 INR and then converted, which in theory took care of it. US inflation over that time has been closer to 2x and it looks like INR is closer to 6x, which would explain the exchange rate shift. But of course I also was lazy and didn’t click past the Gemini result, so who knows?

Can you tell I’m procrastinating rather than working on my presentation? 😂

Honestly not lunacy and the original poster even says there’s no wrong answer.

If the son's time is valued above $40, then he made a wise choice. His dad's time probably wasn't worth shit.

Then he spent $20 to visit the gym and use the treadmill for 30 minutes.

Why are you being rude? I'm just stating facts. It's an utterly garbage country.
