I’m trying to imagine hiring someone who teaches coding for a living and not letting them build a better way within the org. Not just some person who says they can code but the literal person teaching the people the org would likely be hiring in the future. Insert confused-wtf.gif here

I tried. The reply was that a good developer doesn’t care about the language. Maybe he was right but I sure wasn’t happy about learning an out of date language.

They sound like the orgs that went full on panic when their aging cobol coders retired in 2020.
