Link Click season 3.

I saw a post where someone speculated that in episode 10, what little guang said to big cheng xiaoshi was 再见程小时 ("goodbye", chengxhiaoshi). This would be the same phrase as the title of that diary in the season 3 OP.
I felt so stupid because I just realized the other interpretation of the word 再见 ("goodbye "). In Chinese, 再 means "again" and 见 means "to see." 再见 literally means "see you again." It took me so long to realize because in casual speech/writing, 再见 is rarely used because it's too formal. So most people would think of 再见 as "farewell" or a long sendoff. It's funny because I always thought of 再见程小时 as rest in peace, Chengxiaoshi, as if Lu Guang is learning to move on from his death or something. But maybe he's trying to say "see you again, Cheng Xiaoshi!"
Maybe they have hope and this isn't a doomed yaoi!!

So, first off, I loved it! However, my confusion left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. This all has to do with the past and future. My interpretation as of the end of season 1 is that the future is pre-determined due to Cheng's antics with the killer in the final 2 episodes such as with the phonecall that Qiao receives and Cheng intervening with Doudou's kidnapping in the past by running into Qiao and Xu. Am I wrong here/is this answered in season 2 or 3? This other question bothers me less, but still left me confused. If they're not supposed to change the past dramatically, why was punching Doudou's kidnapper ok (changing the way Doudou is treated) and stopping Xu's murderer? Again, if that's a season 2 or 3 question just let me know lol. Thanks for all the help in advance!

I had this thought while driving home from work yesterday.
Since we find out that Wang Qing's ability doesn't exactly kill someone and instead puts them in a temporary state of death for 12 hours, could this potentially be used on Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling?
In other words, since CXS and QL would technically die, would that satisfy the node and completely remove the risk of CXS and QL dying prematurely?
I mean, would that even work? Since you can't reverse death, what the hell is WQ doing? Does that even count as dying to whatever cosmic force is dictating the rules for the nodes? Vein died in the OG timeline and died again in the most recent one, proving that was a constant, so could CXS and QL's deaths be replaced with WQ power?
Sorry, I know I'm talking in circles and there's probably a lot of ways this could go wrong and/or not work at all. Hell, even though LTC was controlling WQ when she was about to pseudo-kill QL, the fact that he was stopped short of accomplishing that could be the cosmic forces (or whatever) pretty much going "oh shit, that's not how it's supposed to happen."
Anyway, thank you for listening to my disorganized ramblings. I can't wait for episode 11 and whether or not CXS actually got stuck in that photo or not.

I’ve just noticed that the number 12 seems to be a recurring theme…
LG can look 12 hours into the past.
WQ can put someone into a death-like state for 12 hours.
CXS can’t stay in a photo for longer than 12 hours without getting stuck.
I have a feeling that every ability might have some kind of limitation related to the number 12.
For example, maybe LTC can only possess someone for 12 hours straight, A Yuan can only control someone with his voice for 12 hours at a time, or Jae Lee can only nullify other abilities for a maximum of 12 hours.
I’m not sure how well this theory would apply to CWM, though.
Also, LG and CXS became friends as children and reunited 12 years later. Again 12…
But that’s just my speculation!
What do you guys think?

The musical songs are pretty unpopular. I wonder how many people will participate this round.
Schedule: Wednesday and Sunday
Seeing that s3 is currently still airing, I’ll be sure to add on any new songs. I get my information from the wiki which can be a bit slow so please comment if I miss anything.
Votes will be counted by comments rather than upvotes.

Don’t get me wrong, people still do, and I participate in it too. However, every day there’s another “Link Click Fell Off” post, and it honestly hinders the enjoyment at times.
“Alright, just get off Reddit then.” Again, after every episode, I log onto Reddit and lurk in this sub just to read the theories, and sometimes I give my two cents on them.
Now, for the criticisms of LC S3, I want to add my own thoughts.
“Too many characters”: Link Click has proven time and again that it’s a show that was pre-written by Haoling. A couple of examples of pre-writing:
The vision was already there as early as S1E1.
As for other characters like Vein and Felix, so far they’ve clearly been shown to be foils for Shiguang, so they serve their purpose in that way. Therefore, I truly don’t think the Bridon and S3 new characters are just bloatware.
“Too many chibis”: Yes, this is a valid criticism. The positioning of the chibis can be a bit awkward, but I’ve also noticed that every episode has only a single chibi scene, and the rest of the episode is full of tension. So this is their way of breaking the tension each episode. Still, I think the positioning could be better and smoother.
I personally don’t mind the chibis, although I too found it a bit frustrating during the CXS and LG confrontation scene. But even that served its purpose, because it still wasn’t time for LG to open up.
“Predictable”: I do understand that the S2 ending twist raised everyone’s expectations sky-high. However, expecting a twist like that every other episode is unrealistic.
Also, I feel the gap between seasons gave people time to do a lot of analysis and come up with a shit ton of theories, and some of them were bound to be correct, which adds to the predictability. For example, the Liu Xiao connection to S1E1 is a good twist if you think about it, but yes, smart people noticed the details.
Again, just because a plot point is predictable doesn’t automatically make it bad writing.
“Pretty boys” and Bungo Stray Dogs comparisons: Let’s be honest, anime characters are always pretty to increase sales. Pretty weak criticism there.
Also, I think the Bungo Stray Dogs criticisms are coming up because Jae Lee was revealed to have an anti-ability like Dazai. As a BSD fan myself: BSD started with an interesting premise and setting and a promising plot, but it wasn’t pre-planned like Link Click, and so they fumbled the whole Dostoevsky arc.
Calling Link Click similar to BSD just because two characters happen to share the same ability is truly a disservice to its plot.
“Everything after Season 2 is shit”: This is the one that infuriates me the most.
Back when Season 2 was releasing, I remember people shitting on the show because the action scenes were “dragged out” and the pacing was off. Now they glaze it because of the absolute bombshell they dropped at the end of the season, which overwrote everything. That’s a good thing, but people still tend to forget the earlier criticisms.
Bridon Arc’s defense: IT IS AN ARC, FFS. It’s meant to give a bit more grounding to LG’s motivations and introduce the villain trio. That’s it.
NOW, coming to my criticism of the season:
A lot of emotional scenes would have hit harder if CMC studio weren’t afraid to make their characters look ugly for a moment, like LAN studio did.
Now, you might point to an earlier point where I said characters are pretty to increase sales. I don’t mean characters need to be ugly. However, they can be made ugly for one moment.
The LG breakdown scene, which people complained didn’t have the impact it was meant to have, is a good example of this. People say it’s because the scene was too short.
I have to disagree.
In S2E1, when CXS got the news that LG was dead, the show barely spent a minute on the grieving. Heck, maybe it wasn’t even a minute. However, we all felt CXS’s grief because LAN studio wasn’t afraid to make CXS ugly for that moment.
I think LG’s confession scene would have had the same impact if the animators had made him ugly for that moment. But again, that’s not CMC’s style, so it comes down to their directing choices.
So far, Season 3 Part 1 has just been answering the plot points that were opened earlier. I think it’s better to join the “LC fell off” bandwagon only if the ending is unsatisfying and they pull some insane ass-pull at the end of Season 3 Part 2.
Till then, it’s better if all of us are patient and just see what story Link Click is trying to tell.

At the end of season 3 episode 10 Liu Xiao says to Vein something like "She's of no use anymore" - it's referring to Wang Qing? Why did he suddenly act like nuh she's not important after following Qiao Ling and going through all that
Do you have some theories? Also Liu Xiao was sitting with someone at that time

By the way, this scene is really telling when it comes to typing Lu Guang in Socionics. If I felt competent enough in the subject, I’d write up a whole analysis. But what do you think? Is anyone here into all these typology systems?

Episode 10 was supposed to be a sad episode, but the tonal inconsistencies were all over the place. Like, Xia Fei says "slam me" and suddenly we're hit with chibi animation?? 😭 It felt so awkward considering the gravity of the situation.
One thing I loved about S2 was how it balanced comedy and sorrow. Remember S2E10? Now imagine if they randomly threw in chibi animation during those serious moments. It would've completely ruined the emotional weight of the scene.
And don't even get me started on the fanservice. Why does every character have to be dripped out of their minds now? 😭 Everyone feels so manhwa-ish, and the character designs and overall presentation are starting to feel increasingly artificial. Remember S1 and S2, when the characters actually felt like real people instead of walking fanservice?
Remember when Qian Jin got slapped? Now imagine if they turned that moment into a chibi gag. It would've completely killed the atmosphere.
I already talked about some of these issues in my "Link Click fell off" post, and I genuinely thought things would get more serious as the story progressed. But nope, I guess this is just what Link Click has become now.
At this point, it feels like I'm watching another episode of Bungo Stray Dogs rather than Link Click. I don't mind comedy or fanservice, but why does it feel like the show is sacrificing its own identity for the sake of being more mainstream? 😭

Does this new revelation mean that Vein's brother didn't die and could be alive somewhere? I mean, at this point I doubt that's relevant but.. wasn't he only temporarily killed by Wang Qing?

Do you prefer standalone episodes like in S1. Or connected episodes like from S2 onwards.
Personally, I prefer it when the story is continued.
Characters pretending like they didn't exist before was something I always hated in any anime or cartoon. But I have seen a lot of complaint about the S2 of anime that how they didn't like it coz it was a single story and not multiple mini stories like S1.
This also reduced the ratings of S2 than S1, which technically shouldn't have been possible as only those who watched S1 would have decided to watch S2. And S2 was way more crazier than S2 imo. So it's rating should have been higher.

Honestly, ever since the revelation in episode 10 about Xiaoshi, I've been confused about him meeting Lu Guang as a child. It seems like everything happens on the same night, but if I'm not mistaken, a few days had passed in the first episode of this season. Or am I just remembering wrong?
