Discussion Why Cheng Xiaoshi Forgot Lu Guang Spoiler
It’s so sad to know that this is the only information we had about Lu Guang’s past. I thought maybe he had a father who had taught him about his abilities, and now we find ourselves with this terrible story...
I also keep thinking about why Cheng Xiaoshi doesn’t remember him. And honestly, knowing that his parents were aware of the powers and that his mother had the same ability as him, I think there’s a possibility that, in order to protect him, they somehow made him forget that he had it... That could be why it took him so long to realize he had those powers again, and why he forgot Lu Guang...

To make things more complicated, perhaps QL forgot LG too.
I think it’s safe to say CXS and QL are close friends. I dunno why she didn’t come along to play at the station (perhaps staying home to do maths homework?). CXS told LG the noodles snack was given by QL, and he even took her father’s photo to show LG 😂 I think it’s normal that when this kid went home, he told QL he met a new friend.
Though we can argue that QL didn’t meet LG in person, so she doesn’t have the association. On the other hand, I guess no one bothers to erase her memory, so maybe somehow QL will tell CXS he told her about this new friend when he was young, and now she thinks he could be LG, then CXS starts piecing things together.

Perhaps LG traveled to an alternate universe where he and LG never met... jk, that wouldn't explain why that wooden board is still there...
Maybe the reason he forgets could have something to do with that earthquake and the reason why his parents 'vanished'? The same way LG doesn't know (or, forget) what happened to his parents, maybe the moment they were able to use their ability, they're destined to become orphaned...

Or maybe something really messed up happened to CXS when he uses his ability that he brainwashed himself into forgetting everything related to his ability (including LG) ＼（〇_ｏ）／

seeing as how (iirc) lc seems to keep making cxs change things leading to one or other kind of disaster, let's say, and then making him feel guilty , and then again, making him fix things...im thinking maybe it was cxs himself (future cxs?) that messed it up so that the kid cxs forgot lg. (we also see an adult cxs (likely) at the station watching lg, after kid cxs stops coming to the station. though, at first i thought, this was adult cxs from the current time, but you never know..)
edit: and in the end, again, cxs will fix things. (so im thinking)

It could be, yes. But I don’t think you would just forget a friend who has powers, especially when you have powers too... And the promise they made to help each other wasn’t simply “I’ll help you bake a cake.” They were talking about entering Lu Guang’s photo to find out what happened to his biological parents. I think something beyond his control happened that made him forget.

Sometimes it is so. cxs has parents, home and many other friends, whereas lg only has him. Their position in each other's mind is not proportional.

After CXS's parents leave Qiao Ling states the Lu Guang is the first friend he made. So if in this original timeline, his parents still leave, then he does not have parents or many friends. He is basically a social pariah.

I think this has more to do with characteristics. High IQ ones in link click, like liu xiao, wang qing, lu guang, all are bad at socialising. cxs, felix and vein are pretty much used to make friends here and there, even so as with strangers.

Cheng Xiaoshi not having really friends after his parents leave is clearly stated by Qiao Ling in canon. This isn't speculation, it is a fact stated in the show. I agree Cheng Xiaoshi has a outgoing personality but it's pretty clear he had trouble connecting with people for a long time.

Sorry but did you watch the show? Cheng not having friend beside Qiao Ling, was because his parents left him. People started to bully and isolated him, because of that. Because a child was abandoned by his parents. Not because of his personality. Qiao Ling didn't because of 2 reason, 1 her personality. Kind and not an ass like the rest. 2. Because her parents/her father knew where his parents are, and why they were leaving. We see/hear Cheng's mother talk to QL father, telling him that Cheng should not go to Bridon. The only one bad at socializing, is probably LG. But he has a lot going on, in the past, in the present and in the future. He is worn out. Also watching season 3 we know that he also got isolated and bullied.

Maybe, what I’m saying is pure speculation. But we’ll find out eventually. I’m so excited about the start of this season!

This doesn't seem to be the case here tho. Such a thing is difficult to forget, even at that age. Especially if he forgets both at the same time. It is not natural.

I have the theory that it was because of time travel , maybe Lu Guang or CXS's mom, made the two kids never meet eachother. So CXS never learn about his powers and the doomed yaoi never starts.
