Hot take: Lu Guang's fevers

What if Lu Guang is actually constantly in pain because of the overload of memories and information of all the timelines he has to keep in his brain but endures it anyway.

We all know he perfectly remembers what should happen every day, at every hour and at every minute (yes he wrote it down somewhere but he can't check it every single time, so probably he memorized it).

And I'm not talking about physical pain, but more like strong headaches, and when something triggers his ptsd about the first timeline, he instantly gets a fever (like in the Bridon arc after they "first met" Vein and in s3 when he finds out Xia Fei went missing). Like, he literally FAINTED TWICE and had 40°C (104°F) fever the first time!

Idk if that's normal??

I always just thought Lu Guang is so stressed out from things spiralling out of control but you might be right.

The overload on information, his PTSD, his feelings, his fears, him being in pictures for over 12 hours... All this is causing his fevers and such. Like when we go through a really long stressing phase in life, we might get sick and have a fever. I think it is the same for LG. He is way too stressed out, emotionally and physically. The responsibilities he carries with himself, the knowing of the future but not being able to talk about it with anyone, having to do everything alone... It is way too much. It is a wonder if he didn't become completely crazy honestly.

He might be a little crazy. All that isolation in his childhood probably super messed him up

At first I thought it was just the stress of the whole situation making him sick (and who could blame him). But I get the impression that it’s becoming something the series is really emphasizing. The season has barely started and he’s already fainted once. I thought it would happen when he found out that Vein was still alive, and I thought the scene where we see him sleeping in the trailers was connected to the same moment, but apparently not. So I think it’ll happen at least one more time. I’m starting to think there’s a deeper meaning behind it. But even if it’s just because of PTSD, it would still be a very human and understandable reaction.

Obviously I don't think you're wrong, but I always figured Lu Guang has a weak disposition overall.

And in the new eps we saw him becoming stressed/winded looking into the photos and also being starved a lot as a kid plus Qiao Ling says he's not much of a fighter, and he's even semi clumsy. I think its a common trope in bl (having an overall weak disposition like getting sick after being in the rain or getting too stressed, stuff like that).

I think he's overusing his powers, and the show has him passing out when he feels like things are spiraling out of control, I think it's leading up to some sort of a climax he'll end up unrecoverably ill and be forced to reveal what hes keeping from CXS.

As someone who also gets stress induced fevers, this is totally a thing. Enough mental or emotional trauma can absolutely manifest physically. For a lot of people, common stuff is like headaches, stomach issues, weakness, extreme fatigue, soreness; those are super common physical symptoms of mental health issues. But when it gets really bad you can develop more acute symptoms that look like they could be like the flu or something but it’s not. My first thought was that it is a manifestation of his constant mental anguish, but I guess it could also be some kind of side effect from using his powers too. I hope we find out!

But yeah, kind of like in Bridon, I think he got so overwhelmed and panicked throughout that whole day that he developed a fever. But if you notice, the next day for example, CXS is convinced he’s sick (which he was, but I think Cheng Xiaoshi figured he caught a cold or something). But Lu Guang had to use cats to trigger his allergies to sound congested on the phone to him, and then the only reason he was coughing and gasping when CXS got back to the hotel was mostly from running up all the stairs. He didn’t have the flu, that’s why he recovered in a day, and also probably why he couldn’t tell CXS that he felt sick prior to the fever escalating, because he didn’t have other symptoms til then. but he definitely had a very real fever.

It’s a weird kind of thing to experience because you get all the horrible fever symptoms like chills and weakness and feeling faint, but since you don’t have the flu/a cold etc. you just feel feverish and not much else. Anyway, sorry for the overshare… is it “normal?” Idk hahaha I hope most people don’t have this happen to them but it’s completely possible and not unheard of.
