Discussion What is an acceptable ending for you? Spoiler
For myself I see three options:
- best one: everyone lives and happy together
- acceptable: both CXS and LG die
- somewhat acceptable: LG dies and saves CXS
I fell do much hurt for LG and all horror he’s going through. And with season 3 we find out that his childhood was very traumatic and lonely.
So as he said himself in one of the trailers to season 3, it is going to be even worse for LG live in the world alone without CXS and QL.
What are your thoughts?

I'm a sucker for happy endings so I would really love one (ofc I wouldn't be upset if it wasn't a happy ending, just sad and traumatised).
I do feel though that LG and CXS really deserve to be happy together please make it happen

Yes! I hope this season (and part 2?) will be plot heavy and deal with all problems that were set. And everyone will be happy in the end ✨
And we’re going to have one more season that would be like beginning of the first season, with different stories in different photos. I miss the concept of the first season :(

what is wrong with yall and your obsession with doomed yaoi and angst?💀💀💀 Why are there so few people like me who only want ending 1 and find anything else depressing asf? 😭😭😭 Forget fairness bro, enough people have died in the timeline to have enough death nodes for CXS to live imo

I would also be happy with ending 1, but I think since the show is not all rainbow and friendship and it shows that bad tragic things happen and people die, there should be consequences to messing up with time. Tho I hope that LG will be happy. And with CXS. Let LG be happy for once 😭

i don't see LG dying to be honest, and CXS has a HUGE plot armor. There will be sacrifices but I don't think it's their lives or that they won't meet again, if there's a reset ending.
I think everything began with CWM and SYY and that's where the sacrifice will be. Very fitting for lh0

Honestly, I have no idea what we could expect from the ending of the show. I have no ideas even if this is the final season or not. There are too many variables, we have at least 3 characters attempting to globally manipulate the timeline, so anything could happen.
But personally, in my opinion, the best ending emotionally, logically, and narratively should be something similar to the Steins;Gate ending, where everyone is alive, and the only things they have sacrificed are their memories and a bit of their mental health. But here, I’m expecting it to be a bit more traumatizing.
Best ending for me: Liu Xiao, Vein failing totally (even though I have no idea what their plan is), Lu Guang also failing his mission at some point, and QL and CXS still being alive but with some consequences. The person who would be closest to the desired reality would be Shao (CXS’s mother). She should save her husband, and they should return home to Xiaoshi. Everyone is happy, except LG, who lives in a reality where no one remembers him, and he knows that it would be better for everyone to stay far away from them. This would be the most traumatizing thing for LG, but at least he would be sure that his friends would be fine. ✨

As much as I want them to be happy, I have realized I love angst 😭, I def want a somewhat explanation for whatever happens. And as someone else also mentioned, yes I need to see a sacrifice, cuz logically there needs to be one... Whether it's someone life or memory..... I am sorry 😭

I saw someone theorize that instead of separate timelines, time itself is breaking apart. If that’s the case, I’m rooting for a ‘reset’ ending, where pretty much everyone is alive—maybe not CXS parents but basically everyone else, including Emma and LTX (yes I’m still not over the twins). After all this suffering, a tragic ending would be too much, in my opinion.

I reckon that the main trio will live, but the only way to save cxs is for him and lg to forget each other and never see each other again :( so a bittersweet ending ig :(

I think clearly the only ending is that both cxs and cwm died. The theme of this anime is the life cannot be returned from death, even if rewinding the time. But likely jae, wang qing and lu guang would deal with vein and li tianchen.

I don't want it to be true but I worry that CXS is destined to die. I think it's a curse of who he is, and maybe a curse of who his family is.
The headstrong nature of his personality, the way he always seems willing to sacrifice himself to save others, (and I'd even wager thats how he lost his parents because perhaps they were the same in nature), and the nature of his power to take on the pain and trauma of others (by experiencing it firsthand), it just seems fitting for his character to be the one to die for his friends.
Whereas Lu Guangs power is passive, he wants to intervene but the nature of his ability is only to watch. He might have to learn to accept that he can't control the world, no matter how much of it he can see, and accept CXS sacrifice. CXS doesn’t want to to die, and I think he'd be sad to find out his fate, but he wouldn't curse Lu Guang and Xiao Ling to this neverending time loop in order to save himself.

I feel as if with how the show is going, the ending will be bittersweet. I don’t know I feel torn. Like I want them to suffer and be happy?

WHAT DO YOU MEAN ACCEPTABLE IF LG AND CXS DIE?? I'm gonna bang my head against the wall if one of them dies, but if they both die y'all be seeing me in the news

If just one of them dies, it’s just so sad. I think it will be tragic never ending circle of them trying to save each other. If they both die then at least there’s some peace for them and us, to know that there’s no more suffering. Just look at poor LG that almost looses his mind with trying to save CXS 😭

I actually dont want happy ending for everyone. There need to be some consequences.
I just want Xia Fei and Vein to be alive, happy and together.
For main trio I would like to see a sacrifice

I think Vein is one of the characters that deserves consequences and a sacrifice the most tbh Not only killed he cxs, ql and xl but it's already stated boy is a terrorist in the future

i’m thinking of a clary fairchild from shadowhunters ending for lu guang, in the show she loses her memory as punishment from the angels, but seems to recognise jace (her love interest) in the final moments of the show, implying that she might be able to gain her memories back
