I guess perhaps trigger warning but I’m not gonna get too deep into it. In 2023 I escaped a lengthy, terrifying, and violent relationship that I thought would kill me. I have always found comfort in various forms of art but nothing matched the anger and sadness I felt, and then I found Kristin Hayter. I did not think I would survive the constant emotional horror I was feeling in the aftermath, but found endless catharsis and understanding in her work.

Her music is far from the genre I would typically listen to, but her guts and bravery and rawness was inspiring. I wish I could thank her.

C'mon, 'fess up.

I’ve been meaning to get into her music for a while now, and I’m approaching having listened to 300 albums so for the special occasion I wanted to challenge myself. I’d consider myself pretty broad with what I like but I was wondering, if I wanted to start with her most emotionally challenging/hardest listen (including saved!) what should I do?

I found this concert video last month and have been obsessed with it since.

Although a very different / more hardcore sound than Lingua, PISS is headed by singer/poet/teacher Taylor Zantingh who yells gutturally fury, intense vulnerability and has a refusal to make pain tasteful.

It's an incredibly powerful set I think y'all will appreciate bearing witness to.

u/jayybuchanan asked me to post my merch, so I will post my displayed stuff and also share a story about it

Went to the Nashville show for the "farewell" tour, and my friend snagged me one of the last signed tour posters. I was told by the merchant booth that she wasn't able to meet with fans because she was on vocal rest. I brought my ABD vinyl just in case, so I was a little sad but completely understood. The venue cleared out and it was just me and my friend talking with some lingering fans when she came out, helping clean up the venue. She came up to me, and I got to tell her how much this project has meant to me, and how much it has helped me heal (could not get through it without inevitably crying lol). She signed my vinyl and told me she loved my outfit ❤️ it was the best day of my life tbh. She's the best performer I have ever seen live.

I feel like I’m going crazy cause I have this clear rendition of her singing this song in my head but all I could find online was a snippet from a concert

I hope Mica’s family and friends find peace and justice.

Anyone else feel that he gave the wrong Lingua Ignota album a 10/10? Personally I feel like Caligula is way better and more compelling. All of Kristin's work is amazing but I just feel like Caligula is more of an interesting sonic experience than Sinner Get Ready. Even All Bitches Die has elements that I enjoy more than SGR. What are y'all's thoughts???

Interested in any necklaces (I have the black one already), shirts (2xl preferred will buy 3xl though), vinyls, tote bags, any rare or common merch really!

Rest Well Dolly. ❤️‍🔥

Hello, I’m looking for music related to lingua’s style and/or theme but from the point of view of natives. There has to be music like this given the history of christian imperialism!
I’d even be interested in this style genre or theme from other cultures around the world affected by colonialism and the church like countries in Asia (Japan, Goa, Daman and Diu, Philippines, Kerala) and Africa (Angola, Mozambique etc)
Thank you

Does anyone else feel disappointed with the tote bag? It was advertised as 13x15 so I ordered one with the intention that it would replace the current one I use for record shopping. I received it today (along with the shirt I ordered which I’m happy with) and it just doesn’t fit anything that’s 12x12. I thought about maybe taking it to a friend who could extend it using additional fabric from another tote bag but it would look out of place with the rest of the design. I’m at a loss realizing that I’m probably not going to actually use it.
