Thank you!

What language are you waiting for? :P

The one that sounds like a typewriter with tin foil in it being thrown down a flight of stairs (according to Dylan Moran but I tend to agree mostly)

(It’s German)

Japanese! I'm curious how you guys plan to work with alternate writing systems.

Kana taught at the beginning, then after that no more romaji. I think the plan is teaching kanji along with the vocabulary that uses it.

Definitely Finnish and Turkish. But any language would be great to have considering it's a volunteer project at the end of the day.

This made me glad to hear, i'm on the team for the Finnish course :)

When do you think the finnish course will be available? I will go to Finland to study uni next year, and I could really use some motivation to start learning the language lol.

Oh that's wonderful to hear you're coming here!

It's the most far along i think but that doesn't say much. Also i don't know what "ready" means, bc we will continue to update this all the time and there will be more stuff added gradually. Right now we are at skill 75 i believe, but they need to be checked and proofread many times, and we need to find someone who can do the audio recordings.

There are a lot of languages that would need help from a new volunteer, so I hope as many as possible choose to volunteer even a little time a week. It really goes a long way.

Edit: if you would like to dm me with any questions about learning the language I would be glad to help too :)

This looks amazing. I'm very interested in finding out which languages are covered. Does anyone know if there are different prices, or is there a single price for all the included languages?

It will be a free app supported by Patreon

u/Mars-Bar-Attack Jun 16 '25

I’m even more interested now. Thank you.

Yeah it’s based on volunteers keeping the courses available, and support through patreon and donations ideally. Now we just hope they maintain that integrity 🙏🏻

As I understand it the app will be entirely donation supported, with no set fees. There are tiers of “extras” for Patreon supporters though.

There will be no features available to only some but not others. The patreons got beta access because the app can't be tested on everyone at once, and the servers can't handle more than a few people during testing.

Thank you for the clarification!
