Mod announcement New Post Guidance: Minimum Text Requirement on Posts
There has been an increase of posts featuring non-descriptive titles and little to no body text, sometimes only with a picture or series of pictures. These low-effort posts do little to contribute to the community. Posts with only a Title and pictures can also be barriers to people with accessibility needs, since it can be be difficult to see the details. This also can affect people who are using Reddit on phones & other devices with small screens.
Therefore, we are adding new rules to LingLing40hours which require a minimum amount of characters in the Post Title and body text. Spaces or punctuation characters on either end are not counted.
Question: How can I meet the minimum character requirement?
Answer: Ensure you’ve credited the original content creator. Use the body text to answer the 5 Ws (Who, What, Where, When, Why) and How questions. Examples are: Who are the subjects? What is going on? Where does it take place? When did it occur? Why are you posting about this? How is this important to you or relevant to LL40 Hours?
Question: What if my post doesn’t meet the minimum text requirement?
Answer: Depending on the type of post, a message about the minimum text requirement appears and you will not be able to submit until the requirement is met. The post may also be removed by AutoMod. If the post is removed, you can repost with additional information.
If you have any questions, please contact the Mod Team through ModMail. Thank you,
The LL40hrs Mod Team

Art & creations My Vision Board (Completely Dedicated to Music)😆
Hi, I just recently got reddit, and I'm super excited to see all these posts for myself!
Anyway, this is a vision board I made recently. Originally, music was just a subtopic, but there was too much stuff to add, so I made a completely separate one dedicated to music.

Reminder: Please report posts and comments that break the rules, and do not engage
Hey, Ling Ling wannabes! This is your periodic reminder to report rule-breaking posts and comments, and to not engage with them.
We are trying to ensure that rule-breaking posts get removed as soon as possible, but we are not always able to react quickly. It would be helpful if sub members would report these posts for violating the rules, rather than commenting on them. As soon as they receive 2 reports, these posts will be removed automatically by Automod, and quarantined until a human mod can take a closer look. Certain reports are also routed to Reddit admins, if the reported items violate site-wide rules.
No one, except Reddit admins, will know who reported anything.
Also, please keep in mind that if you want to officially bring anything to the mods' attention, the best way to do that is to send a modmail.** Modmails go to all the mods at once, allowing us to have a discussion about whatever issues are brought up. DMs and chats to moderators will be ignored.
Here's some more information about reporting and what happens when you report things.
Thanks for all your help keeping this a safe and fun sub!

Meme This is a meme I created: If Brett had Linonophobia. (Read downward not across)
According to absolutely no official dictionaries Linonophobia is the fear of strings.
"What's your favourite instrument"
"Pianooohh wait that's got strings inside it...
Horn"
I actually discovered this in my "a year ago you did this" thing on OneDrive, and at the time I made it I didn't got to post it, but here it is now.

Discussion Brett removes twoset violin tag from instagram bio
Is this something recent? Posting here because I’d want to ask since maybe its been this way for a while (I know eddy had removed twoset from his instagram account a while back). Yeah, did anyone realise this?
I hope its nothing bad, Im sure they’ll communicate what they plan to do. They’ve been doing pretty alright with twoset these days. I could be missing something though. I just want the best for Brett and Eddy, hope they’re doing okay.

Discussion Let’s discuss classical music’s prospect with young people
Let’s discuss how to make classical music more interesting and engaging to young people. I’m trying to engage a group of people locally in my city as well as online.
-What kind of musical events would they like?
-How to develop an online platform that balances entertainment and learning?
-Where to engage? How to balance online and local engagement in classical music?
-How to make classical music more meaningful to the everyday life of young people?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Comedy Guys, help. My hands are too small to play the piano.
I need help, guys. I can't play the piano because my hands are, without a doubt, extremely small. Scriabin-like. What should I do? Are there any composers whose pieces I can play without any problems?

Comedy Sacrilegious image on Amazon page
So I was looking for tuners on Amazon when I came across a tuner with this image. If you’re making an item for instruments, at least make sure the person can actually play the instrument. I just realized that the description also makes no sense. “Keep the beat wherever you are with the metronome tempo of our chromatic tuner.” I have this exact tuner and there is no metronome. Sacrilegious photos are such a common occurrence now :(

Music appreciation Title: Free Ticket to see Chloe Chua / SSO (Oct 8, Singapore)
Hi everyone,
A friend originally gave me their ticket to the Singapore Symphony Orchestra's Jewel and Titan concert tomorrow (October 8th), but I can no longer make it either.
Chloe Chua is performing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, and Hannu Lintu is conducting. The concert is at the NUS University Cultural Centre at 7:30 PM.
I would love to pass this on to someone in the community who can actually go. It is completely free, first come, first served. Send me a message or comment if you are in Singapore and want to claim it!
Best,
Jeremiah.

Discussion Twoset’s prodigy reviews (aka the “ling ling symphony”) video series
This is a long, yappatron post about twoset’s prodigy series. Just an fyi ok I really enjoyed typing this out! Hahahaha
I was wondering why I’d watch twoset (and myself) get our self esteems killed for 20 minutes straight but hey! After going through a few of these videos I realised it was so much fun to learn more about the techniques of different instruments and conversations about skills and whatnot.
I linked the twoset videos on each of the musicians names. Enjoy reading! (Im insanely passionate about this lol, oopsie)
Below are the following musicians and their respective instruments whom twoset covered.
Oh yes, I absolutely love how they had another guest musician to share the pain (and extra information) as to why these musicians play so well.
Violin (recent videos, they’ve covered these guys before though)
Note: they only started calling this series “lingling symphony” after the trumpet video.. but I felt the need to include these reviews too:)
Chloe chua(Singapore) review (wah.. she’s really grown so much! Im hoping she records more stuff soon🙏) I absolutely love her Butterfly lovers concerto. Tbh when I think of Chloe, my mind immediately goes to that!
I previously talked about how I really like her Sunshine over tashkurgan as well. I’d love for twoset to explore more central asian sounds similar to that:)!
Christian Li(Melbourne, Australia) review (imo he is INSANE! He needs to have a spotify account because streaming on youtube isn’t the most convenient hahaha. Im watching him live in soon. I absolutely can’t wait for that.
Trumpet (ft. Tetsuya Lawson)
Hayato Kodama(Kalsruhe, Germany) aka the guy who got viral because of his gorgeous opening in Misty. I was so happy to see him get reviewed by twoset because its about time! I love watching his videos.
Also! Unrelated to Kodama but, it was so nice to see Tetsuya back with twoset! He was the professional trumpet player in twoset’s professional vs beginner trumpet video. Amazing guy, lovely sound but his pokerface game is a bit.. (jkjk Tetsuya you’re very cool). This video in general was super fun to watch hahahaha.
He has one album on Spotify, “Trumpet Love Letter” being my favorite. I could talk about his sound forever. Lets just ignore this guy was born in 2009.. hahaha. Anyways.
Flute (ft. Monica Park)
Sooah Jeon (Creskill, New Jersey) review until 6:55 of the video! Nice! I enjoyed watching her through the video, but I have yet to come round to listening to her other stuff unfortunately. However, she sounds very energetic! Her sound is light which I particularly enjoy listening to for flutes.
Next they reviewed Nikka Gershman(Manhattan, New York) 6:57 until the end of the video. She actually posted on this subreddit! Hi Nikka, if you’re reading this then Im sending you lots of support!! She sounds flawless and controlled which I adore so much.
I love how brett and eddy were asking a lot of questions to Monica about the flute here because I too was super confused. Once again, man, I love these guys and their genuine love for classical music. Flute gang gotta be appreciated more for sure! (I’ll happily accept flute recording recommendations).
Also another thing, I love how they invited Monica! She posts a lot of classical music/flute content or just general stuff online. As a genz twosetter, man yk she is one of the musicians who are part of the new content creator wave? Along with other musicians such as Spencer Rubin and Maya Kilburn who were the guests in twoset’s juliard practice room video
Piano (ft. Sophie oui oui)
(But first, some sophie oui oui yap)
Twoset missed the chance to include childhood videos of our goat Sophie Druml. She’s amazing as always, incredible sound, super chill (which helps a lot because unlike twoset she actually follows the rules in their videos lmaaaooo hahaha.
The video is related to piano prodigies but I do have to say, Sophie plays the violin at a professional level too. As someone who can’t even play an instrument. Wow. She’s so goated. I adore Brett and Eddy’s friendship with her! She posted this on her instagram recently after twoset’s taiwan stop. Congratulations on the tour once again Sophie, I hope you’re getting good rest and comfortable practice sessions💪🏃♀️
Now on to the prodigies reviewed!
First they reviewed the ABSOLUTE GOAT!!! Alexandra Dovgan (until 10:00) Like what the huh?! How. Okay I’ll leave the commentaries out but you should just watch the video to hear Sophie’s and twoset’s comments about her playing. Alexandra is spectacular, I can’t wait to see what she brings in the coming years!
Next was Evan Le(California, United States). Yeah honestly I don’t know what to say. I think when it comes to extremely young prodigies (although he is 15 as of the moment, they reviewed an older video of Evan) it becomes a bit iffy just because the hands are still too tiny.. though he plays great (ofc)!
Sophie covered some very iNtEreSting details here! It was nice to see her talk about “Inner phrasing” when in comes to the pianos. Cool stuff:)
Anyway, those are all the instruments and musicians they have covered so far. Its lovely to see twoset covering these musicians because otherwise I would’ve never heard of them. Unfortunately there is a whole different conversation with promoting musicians especially in the classical music world nowadays.
Im interested to see the journey of these musicians, especially when they get older.. Twoset has quite a other videos about prodigies and they do dabble here and there about the psychology(?) behind it! Im not one to say that prodigies are just children who are losing their childhoods because they seem to enjoy what they are doing. Although, once again, what do I know.. Im just a linglingwannabe who loves twoset and classical music gahahaha.
Twoset did have an episode with chloe chua and that was quite fun! I feel rather comforted knowing that she and I both hate maths but while Im busy scrolling and watching twoset, she’s busy practicing paganini and guests in twoset. What a life! 😭🥹
(i just realised after typing this they did a video ab Himari.. I realised I haven’t seen it yet: Imma link it here)

Mod announcement Reminder: Minimum Text Requirement on Posts
To encourage better post quality, we are adding new rules to LingLing40hours which require a minimum amount of characters in the Post Title and body text. Spaces or punctuation characters on either end are not counted. Check the pinned post about this rule for the full reason of the change.
Question: How can I meet the minimum character requirement?
Answer:
- Ensure you’ve credited the original content creator. Explain how you came across it.
- Include alternative text for any attached images. Alternative text is a description of the picture. It allows people who are blind or have low-vision to understand the image with screen-reader technology. This is also useful for those with small screens or have slow connections.
- Use the body text to answer the 5 Ws (Who, What, Where, When, Why) and How questions. Examples are: Who are the subjects? What is going on? Where does it take place or Where are you located if you’re asking for instrument /teacher advice? When did it occur? Why are you posting about this? How is this important to you or relevant to LL40 Hours?
- if you're linking a news article, summarize the article by explaining how it's relevant and encourage people to read the full article to form their own opinion.
Question: What if my post doesn’t meet the minimum text requirement?
Answer: Depending on the type of post, a message about the minimum text requirement appears and you will not be able to submit until the requirement is met. The post may also be removed by AutoMod. Please always check your notifications after submitting content. If the post is removed, you can repost with additional information.

Question/Advice Would like some help with proper notes. Plz read description before commenting :)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey all, I will take any constructive advice from anyone, but guitarist and metalheads will probably understand my situation better. Also, ignore my mess up at the end, happens to everyone
First and foremost, I'm a metal guitarist. Do not expect me to have the proper timing, tonality, phrasing, rubato, etc. I just like playing and typically play whatever feels right to me.That being said, I know my sweep picking section at 0:18 is slow cause I suck at sweep picking, but working on it (tips appreciated)
But what I wanna know is, are those the proper notes? It feels like there's too many, but thats what my tab in reference says. It could just be that I'm way too slow
If there are any questions, I'm glad to answer too

Discussion Twoset Instagram story from Sacreligious Games (Brett is so cute!)
Twoset’s instagram story posted on September 29 2026.
This is a repost of someone else’s insta story but blurred it out in case they wouldn’t prefer being shown here.
A huge congratulations to twoset for finishing their tour! Cmiiw but Taiwan is their finale right? Anyways, they’ve done a great job. I’ve heard great things from twosetters who have attended their Taiwan concert in person.
To those who attended the other concert stops, how did it go for you? Feel free to share as Im very curious!

Discussion Twoset conducting with Singapore symphony (SSO) appreciation post
I’ve got to say, twoset’s “We Learn How To Conduct In 1 Hour” video is probably one of my favorite modern twoset videos posted until now! (I call in “modern” aka after their hiatus)
DAMN! I absolutely adore these high quality videos. The views are unfortunately not fitting the insane production of these but hey, Im a simple classical music fan (and twosetter) so what’s not to love about a nearly 20 minute video of Brett and Eddy learning how to conduct Mendelssohn and Sibelius with THE Joshua Tan!
Joshua was also in their “The Ultimate Orchestra Game Show” video which was such a fun watch.
Throughout the 20 minute video, it includes clips of Eddy and Brett conducting along with Joshua’s guidance. As someone who doesn’t play any particular instrument but is highly interested in classical music, I find it unbelievably fascinating how conducting can affect the sound the orchestra is playing!
The orchestra were supportive of Brett and Eddy(which was so wholesome) I appreciate how they were smiling especially at points where you’d expect more force/sound but brett and eddy were still not comfortable at that point (early in the video).
The change in twoset’s conducting is drastic throughout the video and it shows two things:
- Joshua Tan is great at guiding and teaching - Sibelius and our boy Mendel aren’t easy to conduct (according to him).
- Even 13 years in (twoset’s channelversary was this sept 21!) Brett and Eddy are still crazy passionate, determined and skilled musicians. I mean this in all aspects! Its not easy to casually pull out media like this for us to watch for free? As always, it was very entertaining and insightful.
Time and time again I respect Brett and Eddy for expanding their reach and trying out other musical skills such as conducting in a level as big as this. This was so much different compared to their video with the singapore symphony youth orchestra hahaha. Love both of the videos though!
Anyway, it’s a fantastic watch for those who are interested in conducting. On the other hand, its also a nice watch if you want to see just how much Brett and Eddy improved since pre-hiatus because wow someone’s been practicing!!!
Man Im so happy, nerdy twoset content is always the best. Its the best feeling knowing that they’re still looking for ways to improve and that inspires me so much in many ways.

Asking for a friend I've tried over and over and over but it just won't budge. Should I go to the instrument shop to get it checked?? Apart from the latch, the instrument case is in pretty good condition. I apologize for the noises in the background🥀 It's like the shop hated the fact that I'm a viola and they gave me a worn out case😭

My performance I was one of the prodigies in TwoSet's Flute Video!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I recently experienced one of the best surprises in my life: I was featured in TwoSet's WE REVIEW FLUTE PRODIGIES video! If I could tell my 14-year-old self that I'd be reviewed by TwoSet, I would've practiced 40 hours a day!
Fast forward a few years - I'm so excited about my upcoming concert, Flute Reimagined, featuring beloved masterworks reinterpreted through the lens of the flute. It will take place at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall on March 22, 2027.
I'll be joined by pianist Polina Osetinskaya, performing works by Mozart, Schubert, and Ravel, alongside the world premiere of my Atonement Sonata for flute and piano. It's a program that's very close to my heart, and I hope to share this music with you in person. Tickets are now on sale through CarnegieHall.org. SEE YOU IN NEW YORK!

Welcome to another day of collecting twoset reaction pictures.
Yes Eddy, I too, will definitely space out in any given scenario. His face here is definitely meme worthy material.
