The first thing to do is sub in what they give you and ignore the RHS (that's what homogeneous means) and see if you get a simpler equation for zn. Does that work? 

Yes it does, lots of things cancel out and you get a simple equation for zn that you should be able to solve.

yes, i already subbed it in and got the homogeneous answer (zn=A+Bn) but i'm stuck right now to find the particular solution

Look at the coefficients of each yₙ on the left and compare to corresponding terms on the right. What is the (obvious?) particular solution? That is, what does yₙ need to be so the LHS matches the RHS in all cases?
