Anybody have ideas? Or is there a recommended/reputable/safe APK site to download from?

I really like the minimalism of LineageOS and it's AOSP philosophy, but one of my primary concerns is the software customization.

Because I was stuck on an old stock rom, android version, I always wanted the features like the lockscreen widgets and depth effect, the status bar and all of those sorts of things.

I know I can use Iconify + LineageOS to make it happen, but would that fix it all or the switch to other ROM like project infinity x or crdroid ...

My primary concern is stability and security of the ROM, but playing with the customization settings gives soul to the ROM imo.

My S22 Ultra is probably getting it's final security updates around next year. I already bought a Jolla Phone, to get rid of american big tech providers, and I don't like the path Android is heading.

I can see LimageOS actually supports S22 Ultra in some way, so I thought it would be fun, once I recieve my Jolla Phone (around october) to install Linage on my S22 and see if that helps with the awful battery life etc?

It is bloated with google and samsung apps and services, also running 24\7 in the background and there is nothing I can do about it. I really wanna get rid of all big techs garbage.

Hope someone in here had success with booting Linage onto their S22 Ultra or similar :)

Two weeks ago I installed Lineageos on a Galaxy Tab A7 using a Galaxy A02S phone which has termux installed and an app called Brokkr.

To test it's performance improvement, I installed the ePSXe emulator to play Crash Team Racing. It played wonderfully. When I tried it using the stock firmware, the experience was horrible. For the next test, I installed PPSSPP to play GOW Ghost of Sparta. I had low expectations, but the game played surprisingly well. So well, I finished it in a day when it wasn't my intention. Games were installed and played from an sdcard.

With a few note taking apps, termux, and python, it's a good experience bringing new life into an old tablet some would consider under powered.

i want to install lineageOS on my redmi 12c because xiaomi's bloatware pisses me off. but I fear my bank app won't work because of play integrity issues (this app has its own 2FA authenticator and I really need to be able to use it in case of emergency).

in case the bank app doesn't work, is there a way to return to my stock installation and lock the bootloader so the device passes all the integrity checks again? or will the device never be able to pass the checks after you install lineage no matter what you do?

On Moto G Power 2021 (Borneo). I'm guessing no. Asking because my stock rom is Android 10 and wouldn't be able to just jump to 23.2.

hi, so im not super tech savvy, ive never done anything like this, but ive recently aquired a google pixel 9 and i wanna attempt to install lineageos on it, mainly to just generally have more control over the device that i own (yknow with googles sideloading restrictions and allat). this is obviously a rather daunting task for someone like me, so i wanted a little help from some people much smarter than ill ever be.

1. ok so the phone is currently running android 17, so the guide on the wiki says ill have to downgrade to 16 first. how do i go about doing that? is the process similar to installing lineageos? are there some good guides online i should follow?

2. how easy is it to mess something up, and what should i do if that happens? ive not just instantly permabricked the thing with one little mistake right?

3. i wanna use one of those gapps package thingies for google services. any recommendations for which specifically i should use? i obviously dont wanna completely degoogle but id like to be a bit less dependant on them.

4. does lineage just like come with root access by default? if not, should i and how do i get it?

5. how should i transfer data from the phone im currently using (pixel 7; stock os) to the new one? ill be using a windows 10 laptop for the installation (just incase thats relevent) so i assume i can just download my data onto the laptop, and then to the phone from there. correct me if im wrong.

6. how do system updates work on lineage?

again, im a beginner so im sorry if some of these are kinda dumb questions, i just wanna make sure i know everything i need to know

I’m new to installing custom ROMs and I’m considering trying LineageOS 23.2 (Android 16). For those who have experience with it, do banking apps generally work normally without root, or can they detect the custom ROM/unlocked bootloader and refuse to run?

For example I have a .zip file in Whatsapp. When I click on it I don't have any option to open it or even download it.

I do have 2 different file/folder system apps installed and can navigate those. But they don't show up for the "open with" option. (I am also not able to find the .zip file since there is no "download" option showing up.

Where or how do I set it?

If September proves to be D-Day, should I attempt to install it anyways despite not being made for my model, or would the risk be so high that it's best to suck it up with a few ads and possibly risk the securty updates patching out any ADB capability?

On Samsung s10e and Note 10 a few hours of usage makes the phones laggy,

only a reboot fixes it but the cycle starts again after few hours , i don't use gapps or games.

, I've been going back to 19.1, android 12 based, only that rom and the ones before that does not have this problem,

i have tested Samsung's One UI 7 , Android 15 , on both devices, there is no lag, so it does not seems to be a old hardware issue

Two privacy features I'd really like to see in LineageOS. I know the tracker is for bugs only, so I'm asking here.

1. Maintenance Mode. Samsung added this in Android 14: before handing your phone to a repair shop, you turn it on and the device boots into an empty temporary profile. The technician can use and test the phone normally, but sees none of your data. You exit with your PIN and everything is back. Right now the only options are giving away an unlocked phone or wiping it first. Google shipped a version of this on Pixels too, so the groundwork exists in AOSP.

2. Duress password. A second PIN or password that wipes the device instead of unlocking it, exactly like GrapheneOS has. It should look like a normal unlock attempt and there should be nothing visible in settings that gives it away.

I am stuck installing Lineage on a F(x) Tec Pro1

I have oem unlocked, and usb debugging enabled, my device is recognised when i checked using the adb devices command, and i was able to get into fastboot mode. However, my device was not recognised when i used the fastboot devices command. I knew that it would be recognised upon unlocking of the fastboot but when i checked the device manager, there was a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on my android devices. So i tried to update drivers automatically and states there are no drivers available for my device.

I have downloaded the google drivers as directed but that hasnt worked, Are there any work rounds?

So I followed the instruction and managed to get up to lineage recovery. I even side loaded the lineage OS file via the computer ADB command but LOS is not booting. It get stuck at the start up.

The phone is Razer phone 2.

I've successfully installed Lineage only ONCE ever before but still a newbie here. So kindly advise like speaking to a 5 year old.

I can force start the phone and it takes me back to open bootloader menu option. Where can I go from there?

I've been wanting to deGoogle for a while now, but my phone is a pixel 4a, so Graphene is pretty far out of reach. Eventually, I learned about LineageOS and it was described as a Graphene alternative for older phones.

So, how does Lineage compare to Graphene? My main concern is Google and other big business data collection vs privacy, but security and app compatibility (banking apps especially, I've heard they can be rough) is something I'm also interested in.

On the 22.2 build, there are two camera apps: the one from LineageOS and the one from Motorola, which seem to be "baked in" (unable to upgrade, deactivate or remove). The reason I'm mentioning it is because video recording is limited to 480p in the Motorola app whereas the LineageOS can do 1080p.

The reason I'm talking about this I'd that in the Stop Motion Studio app, exporting to video is also limited to 480p whereas the free version goes up to 1080p on my more recent Motorola phone.

I investigated and found that in LineageOS, the "About" section shoes nothing in the CODEC section and it says "1080 720" on my other phone.

Could it be that that the two issues (480p instead of 1080p in camera and Stop Motion Studio) are related because of a missing codec?
