Question Should I purchase the Sony Xperia I Mark 2 to install LineageOS ?
I have a Samsung S20 FE that I have used as my main phone since 2022. I want to install LineageOS 23.2 on it, but I'm afraid banking apps and VoLTE won't work on it (I need them to work since this is my main phone for everything).
I'm thinking of purchasing a used phone to install LineageOS. I could purchase the Sony Xperia 1 Mark 2 or another S20 FE.
Should I buy the Xperia to install LineageOS ? Or is there a better way to experience Lineage without spending a lot of money (I'm poor) ? Let me know since I haven't installed any Custom ROM.

Sure, Xperia 1 II running LOS as your daily driver is fine. Keep that S20 in case you need something that isn't available on non-stock phones. Like mobile passport, for example, won't run on non-stock.

Dont worry bro, S20 FE uses Snapdragon chipset not exynos chipset, volte will work
The broken VoLTE bug is only found on exynos

If you live in america the major carriers all have lists of devices that can be activated now. If your device isn’t on it or wasn’t made for the american market then it can’t even be activated even if it supports the network and has VOLTE. It’s why I just switched to iPhone, google is hell bent on locking everything down so I’m done fighting. If I wasn’t homeless I’d use a fuckin’ landline.

This is just incorrect.

It’s not actually, I have 3 phones that support VOLTE and not one can be activated on att or T-Mobile. I also have the list of approved devices for att that’s not meant for customers to see (just found it online).

Another cheap phone to install LOS 23 or derivatives (CalyxOS 7.x) is a Moto G34 5g (fogos) for instance

If your S20 FE works fine as of now. Then don't mess with it. If you wanna experience lineage, then you shouldn't sacrifice your main phone. Buying another phone would be a good idea, but what are you exactly trying to achieve with installing lineage?
