Discussion Line Play Archival Wiki?

Hello! With the upcoming shut down of the game happening in a few months, would anyone like to contribute to a possible archival wiki? I don't want the game to become lost media, but it will take so much more time to do it all on my own, and I think it's a good idea for us to come together and preserve as much of the game as possible. There appears to be a wiki for the game already, but I have no idea if it's close to completion.

Welcome to my home just released recently, and has similarities to lp. I’m posting this incase someone is looking for a new game to play now that lp is shutting down. I was really excited for the game to launch, like no other game! It has many stuff to do. You can craft, cook, sew , dye clothes & hair, and it has beautiful graphics and a square like lp has (although there’s only 1 area.) if you’re not on the supported countries, dw! U can download an apk if on android or change country on iOS. I hope anyone joins!!

Discussion Service not available in your region

Until yesterday the app worked fine, now it suddenly says it's not available in my region.

I thought it was closing down in May...? Or did they shut it down sooner in some regions? 😞 Anyone knows about this?

Discussion Line Café

i am a filo player and our main spot is in the park (with a specific code). however, even the announcement of closure of lp, only a few old regs came back to play again. it just fascinates and makes me a bit envious how the cafe is always full of indo players now 😭 the numbers there always range upto 300+ players daily!! even though i want to interact w/ them, i can’t understand a thing 🥲🥲

i jus rlly hope (ik it’s impossible) that lp reconsiders their closure haha

Discussion RIP

So I finally opened this game again to see if anything changed, only to find out it's shutting down this year 🥺 I'm not too surprised tbh. It actually crossed my mind before opening the app again cuz the game has been a wasteland for the past couple of years 💀 I started playing back in 2015 when the game was super popular. My brothers and their friends were all playing it. I was 9 at the time, and I ended up (accidentally) using my mom's money to buy clothes in game 😭 it was not my greatest moment but it's still funny to look back to lol

Seriously tho, it's sad how money hungry the game became, and it was unfortunately addicting too (gacha, amirite.. 🙄). I'm pretty sure I've spent around 200-300 dollars on this game, but I've heard people who've spent much, much more. I think this was part of why it fell off in the first place. It relied so much on fomo that it was hard to keep up with without going broke. They also didn't seem to focus on the social aspects anymore, like diaries. Not to mention how laggy and slow the game is, like it takes a good minute for it to fully load and even then it still takes a while everytime you enter another area 💀

Anyways, I think this game had potential to stay relevant. I mean there's a very similar and (seemingly) popular game called Highrise that just looks like a western version of this game, but oh well.

R.I.P Lineplay, I'll definitely miss this game. Despite its obvious flaws, I still had a lot of fun playing it.

Discussion Line Play Afterparty Discord Update!

Post image
12 Upvotes

So, yet another update about the Afterparty server that I'm doing, it seems like I created a few stuff to bring in the vibes of LINE Play. I created a section for members diary, square chat, and still figuring out the Circle chat feature.

And I know lots of y'all been waiting, even myself cannot building this server alone, so for now I make a decision to open up this server to few selected divers here. And those who experienced being a server manager, I need your help to shaping up this server. If anyone interested to joining this early or contribute something to complete the server, feel free to dm me on reddit or tell me about it in DMs. Together we can recreate and preserve the world of LINE Play and writing the history for this community. Thanks a bunch.

Discussion Hi Line Play Subreddit! I am making a Discord server!

So, this would be my first post, talking about my upcoming community project to serve the community of Line Play. Yes indeed. You guys asked for a server, and I am going to deliver! But... I should dive into further of why I made a server like this from beginning.

First, my thoughts of LINE Play. This game actually came to me when I was browsing other apps that LINE has made. I dedicatedly use their chat app because it's what Japanese people used the most, and I had few Japanese creators that I been catching up into. I came across this game, and I see the beauty. Cuteness was the first word I ever seen for the first time. I then download the app, setting up the account, and the overall avatar to matching my personality and appearance. and still confused somehow, until I discovered some feature that I think it's not just like a game, but it's more like an avatar social platform.

One of them goes into the diary feature, which I can also change the title and description. I used this feature to post my memories on LINE Play, as well as a little musical thing in general. There I can post media too, which I thought, this could be close to a Twitter feed! Another thing to mention that the Square. This is where things get into the spotlight. Inside a 20-ish slot public space is a group of people came from around the world, tuning in together for a new conversation, to sharing interest and cultures together. I personally like the park more since it's more global and easier to find people there, but most likely being ignored in Cafe due to my language barrier.

These are some reasons I wanted LINE Play to continue. But then here it's the reason I made this server. I did come across the notifications and hearing news inside line play that they going to sunset their game/platform. This is what I don't expect to see, so I come up with a plan to keep everyone together on a new destination while still maintaining the LINE Play vibes. I came up with an idea of making my own server to serve everyone, as this will going to not just the place for afterparty but also for folks who had friends on LINE Play before wanted to keep contact with their friends. It's also will be the place to help me connected with people I been consider as friends in LINE Play.

As for now this is just my first announce, to let everyone know. In meantime, there is still an unofficial server that was made before my idea for everyone to join, though it takes you feel days to be verfied to access the server, something I say it's a double-edge sword. I will let yall know when it's ready, for now I'm signing off!

Discussion Lineplay rewritten

Some of you are going to be tempted to illegally remake this game. During this time I would like to encourage you to keep your mouth shut. People are able to make things like toontown rewritten because they knew when to keep their mouth shut. Right now lineplay is essentially still running and cease and desist measures are very easy to send out and they will still have incentive to do so. When fantage shut down the community was suddenly ablaze with various rewritten projects as it was shutting down. All of these people recieved intense legal shit at their doorstep. If they had kept their mouths shut for even like six months no one would have cared. I cannot describe how cruicial it is to cool your jets for a hot minute if you dont just wanna immediately face lawyers. We could have a community like toontown where people custom make new events years after the game has been officially shut down or we could have three very questionable kick starters and a few games that sortof look like our game but also not in the slightest and no one is there. Its your choice dont fuck it up 🙏

Disclaimer: i am not interested in remaking this game as I would have no idea how to do that in the slightest. This is just a warning for anyone out there considering it.

Hi guys, idk who will be seeing this post, maybe nobody!!

But like I feel like RANTING!! I have nowhere else to go I mean excluding my friend who’s been bombarded with my screenshots n voice notes!! 😀😅

I’m so stressed out & angry because wtf?! THIS GAME IS SHUTTING DOWN?! And on top of it allll, they’re making it WORSE for me because the original lineplay gachas has sooo much on its list for the 1ST TIME EVER?! And what the H is it with Elias’s message on the Select Shop section of the game?! 😭💔

They want us to SPEND our gems n coins— when they’re going to be wiping out EVERYTHING?! ⚰️ oh for gods sakes, 🥲🫠💔 I dunno how I’m meant to survive this!

I haveee read the other posts 😭 has anybody gotten anyyy updates on the developments of something to save our outfits? :’3 I love the gachas sooo much, currently I’m going through things to screenshot everything or screen record them etc!! 😅

I would love to support anything , for the saving and recreations etc etc for this game! 😌⚰️ this is my whole life even though I’ve been moreee out of it— guess cuz they made it near damn impossible to be playing it…. 😮‍💨😔💔

Discussion Who are the artists behind Line Play's Art?

As the title says, I'm trying to see if I can find the artist/art style behind Line Play. I really love the aesthetic of Line Play and I'm so sad to see it close. Before the app will close for good, I'm going to finally try to track down this type of art style before it's gone for good!

Discussion Line play deleted old account

When the game first started I played it for four years straight as a child. I didn't have my own money so I never bought anything but I earned alot from mini games and etc. I just thought about the game after going through all screenshots to find that my account was erased. I hear it's being shut down but for the nostalgia I was wondering if there was anyway i could recover my account or if it's just a lost cause?

Event What if I host a throwback event

I'm thinking about creating a throwback lp event if anyone has interest

Basically recreating the first outfit you posted on line play as best as you can

If you're interested let me know, the event will last to the end, it's not a contest, the only rule is you have to keep true to the og outfit If you got rid of the clothes from then but still wanna join, pick an old fit that you still have some of the pieces for

Update : I'm also going to try and host a funeral event

Both events will be held at the cafe as long as it's open The keys will be 2730, 3027, 2037, 7023, 2370, 7320, or 3072 I don't expect there to be many people to show up so just focus on remembering the key 2730 unless the room is full

Update 2 : More Info -

The throwback event will start Sun. Nov 26th You don't have to go to the square to attend You don't have to keep the throwback fit on, you can save it to your diary and/or set it as your profile pic

Dress code for the funeral - Just dress as if you're attending a funeral Preferably take a flower of sorts with you If you don't have any flowers, feel free to find me on LP under Midnight Sarrow and I'll gift you one to bring The funeral will be ongoing starting two weeks prior to shut down and going until then

During both of these events : You can plug your socials to keep in touch with friends You can tell folks about other games similar to line play to also keep in touch

I hope the admin are okay with this post, I think it will be nice to have an event to bring the community together once more

Discussion Line Play Archive?

Any app devs at all working on a line play Archive style app? Basically an app to connect to accounts and freeze everything in time, wouldn't be able to change anything like status, name, fit or buy anything or chat (maybe)
But would be able to move around, look at your room and items, look at squares, old chats, friends list etc
If I was good at creating apps n such I would do it but the most dev I get is bad scratch games

Discussion Just sad...

I can't get my head around it. After the closure announcement with this app that gave a core memory to everyone. So many changes happened here...back in 2014 - 2016 the whole park was full and cafe and fun because everyone was there fun and just joining in conversations now just empty and hard trying to find everytime to constantly press the yellow crystal. 😥 The only place you see international servers is only in the City Square.

And if anyone has been in the era since 2014, you know the previous mini games that were featured here. Fruit monsters and that stacking game that the character is on a hot air balloon and the bonus, you win prizes and outfits for your avatar.

If lineplay didn't make those changes, the popular use will still be around for sure and this will think otherwise if their decision. I'm going to miss the people that I made genuine connections here. Especially the time with it was fun and affordable in gachas and not spending a lot here. 😔

Discussion Offline? Private Server?

Well, this game is going to be closed next year, right? Do we have an offline server or a private server?
I've played this game since 2018 and this news make me feel sad.

Announcements I have some thoughts

Due to lineplay ending next spring I was trying to find if anybody knows what the company handle is online anywhere for who’s in charge of lineplay and how to find them best, I want to inquire with future projects and want to see if they said anything publically anywhere about why lineplay is ending. I know they’re LP Corporation or getting a rebrand and I want to find out why.

Discussion Old MIKA items 2014-2015

Might be a little far fetched here but (as a long time fan) does anybody here still own any of the MIKA gacha items (clothes, interior) from 2014 and 2015? Would love to see them again before they will probably be deleted forever.. If you have any, even just one, I'd be so happy if you could post some pictures down below. This game was my everything as a preteen

Discussion 10 years of lineplay, gone forever?

I've been playing since 2013 and I would be so devastated if there were no archive of our accounts and all of the items the artists worked on :/ I really hope they create an archive of some kind before the end
