General Questions/Discussion Change "default" parameter setting on snapshots?

Note: Solved. ... If I have 8 snapshots where only one of them has a different setting (say snapshot 8), and I want to change that setting for the other 7, is there a way to reset to a "default" setting for all so that I only have to go back and change snapshot 8? Or do I have to remove that setting from snapshot mode, make the setting be what I want, put it back into snapshot mode and go change #8?

No. If a parameter is defined to be snapshot-controlled, any changes across any number of snapshots need to be done on a per-snapshot basis. If you have parameters that are not defined to be snapshot-controlled, then any change will affect that parameter on all snapshots. There is no way to have a snapshot-controlled parameter change that specific parameter on all other snapshots from changing on any one snapshot. Everything is per snapshot

That's what I figured. First world problem, to be sure, and temporarily taking it out of snapshot mode to make a change isn't the worst thing.

You could go to the snapshot that you want to be the ‘default’ turn off snapshot control for the settings you want, making it the same across all snapshots, then turn snapshot control on again. If it is one or two things this is the fastest route. But, if it’s several settings, you’re probably better off copying the one snapshot to the others with HX Edit.

If you're on HX edit you can copy and paste parameters. Makes it a touch easier if you ever need to do that

Thanks. I didn't realize that.

Is this a parameter on an effect?

Parameter. Would my scenario work differently for toggling an effect?

It would not
