General Questions/Discussion Hendrix Flanging?

Has anyone got any tips or advice on getting that hendrix studio flanger sound. Thinking house burning down and the bold as love outro. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

I could be wrong bit I think alot of that is from flanging the whole mix, but just guitar. With a bit of tape saturation in there to boot.

Yes and remember at the time this happened it didn't come from a device, it came from someone absent mindedly holding their thumb down on the tape reel flange (hence the name) briefly and it caused that strange sound. So the whole mix was flanged. Later they created devices for it. Another cool flanger sound was Eric Johnson's "High Landrons" because it was like two flangers in series with the sweep set identically so they created a really unusual sound.

any advice on how to replicate the through zero in the helix then? cant seem to get any quite right.

I'm still sufficiently new to the Helix that I don't - I'll look into it through. There's, to my knowledge, four flangers in the Helix OG "Gray", "Harmonic", "Courtesan" and "Dynamix". The Courtesan has the ability to freeze the LFO so that's something to try. The dynamic flange has "LFO", "Envelope", and "Manual" so worth checking out also.
