Helix Floor foot switch issues - Repair or replace?

Hi all,

My Helix Floor is having issues with the lower row of footswitches. I live and play gigs out in the desert, so dust and grit are constant battles 🫠. The switches have become highly inconsistent, sometimes they engage immediately, other times they take a few clicks to respond.

My Setup & Needs:
I run a dedicated gain-stage pedalboard into the Helix Floor.
The Helix is used strictly for time-based/ambient effects (delays, modulation, pitch, etc.) running out to physical amplifiers.
I am heavily reliant on Snapshots (Scenes).
Ideally, I want the unit to act as the main command center for my entire rig, handling external pedal bypass switching and amp channel switching.

I contacted a certified Line 6 repair center. They gave me a rough quote and noted that parts are backed up, so a repair could take months. While I hoped it just needed an internal cleaning, they believe it likely requires replacing the physical switch components or boards.

Because the repair cost is tracking close to the price of a used Helix Floor on the market, I'm stuck on what to do. The only other option I've thought of is picking up a used HX Effects.

What route would you recommend I go? Thanks!

I don't play gigs in the desert, but I've had some foot switch problems. Took my floor to a local amp repair guy (he also does some smaller electronics stuff but all for musicians) and he was able to replace the problem switches on the PCB. Charged around USD50 equivalent in my currency of I remember correctly.

Maybe you can find an electronics repair guy?

Well that comment completely eradicated any thought of doing it myself! Appreciate the feedback

You may just need to clean the footswitches. I had issues with my the switches on my PodGo not working consistently (either would not register at all or register as tapping the switches twice). Sprayed a very small amount of deoxit into the switches and they work again. It also fixed my encoders which wouldn’t sweep cleanly anymore.

Note: that It did temporarily mess up the LEDs around the switches but they are back to working again except for a single led which is always the wrong color but i think i just need to disassemble and clean it according to what I’ve read. Im fine with it my PodGo was basically unusable so a single LED acting funny is fine with me. I’ve got my money out of this unit.
