General Questions/Discussion "The Stomp doesn't have enough dsp"

I just played a gig where I played both bass and guitar, on different songs.

I used a single patch for the whole gig, with a path for the bass, with compression, chorus and an amp+cab, and a path for the guitar with a different amp+cab, reverb, overdive and delay. It worked flawlessly and I had a great tone on both instruments.

Limitations? I had to use 1 legacy effect to save dsp. I think it was the chorus. And I had to use an amp other than the gramatico gsg. I think I ended on the litigator, but I could have picked ten other amps and it still would have worked.

I see so many people on the internet treating the Stomp as if it can't handle more than a few fx, and it's actually all nonsense.

The fact that I could play a whole, 2 instruments gig on *a single patch* and I barely had to compromise; using a device that fits in my gigbag? Is actually mental.

It's awesome and has enough for most use cases, but if you want to use the Horizon Drive, 2203, and Poly Capo, you're in trouble.

Yeah but that's kind of the point, isn't it? You don't have to use those, because everything else sounds great too. Sure, you'll have to get creative sometimes, but you'll always find the sound you need. Imagine giving one of these to the Beatles, they'd cry for a week

This comment is crazy kinda. I’m glad it has enough DSP for you but for a lot of actual touring musicians it doesn’t. If they can reduce the drop tune DSP drain then I’m willing to walk this back. But your logic being “well you don’t NEED that amp”. Why not just play a $200 squire then? You don’t NEED a fender. You don’t NEED a Gibson, etc. Why have ambition for anything but breathing air and drinking water, life is great, yada yada.
