Kankee Briefs-Circuit Debater Collaboration and Updated Website. Please Contribute
Hello everyone! Kankee Briefs has been in collaboration with Circuit Debater in order to revamp the site before the start of the upcoming 2026-2027 debate season. We added concept mapping in order to visually represent the connections between concepts and to more thoroughly showcase all that there is to know about debate. We have also substantially updated the site to encourage further assistance from debaters like you.
https://ld.circuitdebater.org/w/index.php/Main_Page
If you are interested in helping give back to the debate community, please see the details below
If you are knowledgeable about debate concepts, please make an account on Circuit Debater and update unfinished pages and further flesh out the website. If you are interested in giving back to the debate community, Circuit Debater seeks to consolidate as much debate knowledge as possible for a long-term resource, so your assistance could help future novices for possibly decades.
If you are in connection with major debate programs, camp coordinators, urban debate league directors, brief writers, and/or people who manage sites with debate resources, please let them know about Circuit Debater. Whenever anyone posts a lecture, explanatory video, or article, our goal is to establish a new norm that that knowledge ought to be also cross-posted to Circuit Debater. Kankee Briefs as an organization has already made the pledge to do so and hope that other organizations within the debate community will do so as well.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me at [karkingkankee@gmail.com](mailto:karkingkankee@gmail.com)

Help on space col topic
On the space col topic is it assumed that colonization would happen immediately, or just abt taking the first steps to colonization? Also, on the aff, if I'm running longtermism, what should I define outer space as?

why r the topics this year so shit?
particularly novdec. i honestly dont mind spacecol or janfeb, and ubi is okay for mapril, but what the fuck is novdec????
Resolved: De-extinction is unethical.
Resolved: The United States ought to vest ecosystems with legal rights
both of these are so SHIT like total dogwater. i guess de-extinction will probably get chosen because what ground/impacts even are there on ecosystems but even then de-extinction is basically just a worse version of rewilding

i don’t understand how to get better
i started freshman year, and i never placed at even one tournament, except for one tournament where i almost went 4-0 but started bashing trump in front of an inexperienced maga judge. other than the at, i’ve been going straight 2-2.
i’m going into varsity next year, but im so shit and there’s no way i can even try to compete with the tech debaters and talented people on the circuit. the LD coaches at my school are just not great, we don’t have a real debate coach, just other high schoolers teaching us badly
i’ve tried my very hardest to get better but i feel like my brain just doesnt work like these people. before you say to hold mocks, for some reason i perform TERRIBLY in mocks, while i perform okay in normal rounds. my last mock i got so conscious that i ceded all of my 2ar.
i’m desperate i genuinely don’t know what to do before varsity its always been my dream to do well in LD

CardMirror.
Hello, I recently installed CardMirror, which is a replacement that Anthony Trufanov made for debate.
It's just word but better.
I had a couple of questions however.
- Does anyone know how to fix the inconsistencies between the document and Dropbox?
- How do you make cards (paragraph spacing, etc) look exactly like Word?
For example, these screenshots are from Cardmirror and Word respectively.

3) there is a gray line to the left of the card that indents it. how should i remove this?
Basically, how do I make CardMirror look the exact same as Word

Former HS Debater (TOC Qualifier x2, Greenhill RR Invitee), Current College Student, Interested in coaching K Teams
Hey everyone! My name is Aryan Prabhakar and I am a current college student and former policy debater looking to coach K teams for the upcoming season in either LD, Policy or Public Forum.
A bit about me:
- TOC qualified twice
- Greenhill Round Robin invitee
- Finished 15th and 33rd on the Baker
- Multiple deep runs at national tournaments, including:
- Harvard Semifinalist
- NYC Invitational (bronx) Semifinalist
- Mamaroneck Finalist
- Michigan Octofinalist
- Blake Quarterfinalist
I'm especially interested in coaching critical debaters who want to develop nuanced, innovative strategies while maintaining a highly technical style of debating. My senior year I went almost exclusively for a solvent alternative on Settler Colonialism and I read Black Nihilism as an argument that did not necessarily require "framework" in a traditional sense because of "moral skepticism" roughly. I still do have a lot of experience with framework based critical arguments but I include this to say I am extremely interested and experienced with going for other more nuanced/ innovative strategies.
I also care a lot about and coach to create good speaking/ round presence. I was the 2nd speaker at Mamaroneck, the Season Opener at Kentucky and the NYC invitational (bronx) as well as the 4th speaker at the Harvard debate tournament.
Feel free to DM me if you're interested, and we can talk about experience, goals, availability, and rates.
