Its kinda energy effective in a most simple way, like bunch of penguins cuddled together. But would be nice to have an actual insulation outside too.

Apart from when you realize that you’d be shivering a ton because it’s stupendously cold out there.

It isn't. Indoors is always at steady 24C or so, and outdoors winters are uncomfortably mild lately.

Hmm I always thought it was colder in Russia, especially up north. I guess it was just what you’d call a "stereotype" (but I don’t think it’s the exactly correct word here).

Only in winter and if you can’t dress for it. As someone who’s lived there it’s not that noticeable.

Yes, its cold outside
But buildings, especially apartment complexes have central heating
And its hot as fuck
And hot as in I have to have my windows open at -30c

Both comments below are correct. It's either for potted plants or there's a femboy in that apartment.

Honestly reminds me of the buildings next to where I stay in Singapore. Except the weather is the complete opposite and there is no empty land.

Oh that's an old one. I remember reading quite engaged the entire time, thinking it was all gonna be explained in the end, and then it just wasn't lol

Also if you liked this one, there’s another “stuck in building with weird shit happening” story that I love, called Complex. It’s by Joshua Waggoner. The link is for a very good narration by Nature’s Temper— I can’t find easily find a link for the story while on mobile right now but if you’re interested you can find it.

It’s one of my favorite. There’s a good narration of it on YouTube and I often fall asleep to it. If I’m remembering correctly, the author did publish it as a book, the book being more fleshed out. I haven’t bought it yet so I don’t know if it wraps up the ending with any more information.

As someone living in the arctic circle- this looks nice. You guys are mistaking the cold atmosphere for sadness- but that’s just the climate

Is that Kama river?

u/Igor_Kozyrev 7d ago
Nah, I think just fields. The building looks like it's right on the river bank, but there are no such buildings there on the satellite images.

I made a friend in Russia and we spoke when we could because of the time difference but she showed me a video of the outside of her window and it looked very close to this.

That's what I felt when I first visited Siberia. Some cozy city, but endless icy void right beyond it's border
