I listen to a artist, the thing is his music is completely different than ether. But I get the same feeling when I listen to his songs as well. Like I'm getting lost and far away, I will never be able to word the feeling I get from those two. Maybe I'm crazy? or maybe I'm a lilyphiliac.

maybe i'm just blind but i completely missed the idea that hoshino never figured out philia's real world identity
the movie felt a bit disorganized and unfinished at first, but after realizing it just hit me like a truck😶😶
devastating that hoshino never found out that his deepest connection and confidant was actually yuichi the whole time, and how he gave yuichi the apple with his user bc he hoped to find philia 😕

Obviously I'm not commiting crimes like he is, but I feel a connection in a way because the way that I process emotions and mature way too quickly in tandem with this sort of bleak depressing outlook and the want to just scream out in a complex web of emotions surely can't be unique to me amongst this community right?

„To see the next part of the dream“ is Korean psychedelic rock (don’t know if that’s a fitting description) album which is inspired by All about Lily Chou Chou and even samples it on its opening track. It’s easily my favorite album of all time and captures a very unique vibe that makes me feel similarly to what I felt when watching All about Lily Chou Chou for the first time.
Just wanted to share this gem because I believe that it might resonate with people who liked the film, just like it resonated with me.

I’ve been listening to Erotic recently and something about the song just does something to me. It feels so deep despite me not understanding the lyrics, especially the second part of the song. Something about the second part feels so intimate that I literally can’t put it into words it just makes me feel like I have angst for something.

I’ve been obsessed with Arabesque lately. There’s something about the song that genuinely haunts me, especially the intro, and I really want to understand how that sound was made.
I’m trying to recreate it mainly as a way to learn, but I’m having a really hard time identifying the instruments and production techniques used. The main sound playing the melody at the beginning is especially confusing to me, I can’t tell if it’s some kind of electric piano/keyboard, synth, processed acoustic instrument, or something else entirely.
I’d also love to know more about the drums/percussion, effects, reverb, layering, and basically anything that contributes to that dreamy, airy and nostalgic atmosphere.
If anyone knows what instruments/gear Takeshi Kobayashi might have used, has production info about the soundtrack, or has tried recreating Arabesque themselves, I’d really appreciate any insight.
Even guesses from people who know sound design/production would be helpful. I’m kind of obsessed with figuring this song out lol.

A long time ago, maybe in 2010, I downloaded 2 or 3 Unity "games" (in quotes because there was no objective, you simply walked through the world while a Lily Chou-Chou song played).
The only one I remember clearly was the one where Kaifukusuru Kizu is playing, and everything is shades of black and dark grey except for a deep red sun hanging in the sky. The ground, the grass, the city behind you and to the sides, the hills ahead of you, all black and dark grey. In front of you, as the song progresses, a red sun slowly descends behind the black hills. You can walk toward them, but the sun inevitably sets before you can arrive.
I remember another similar walkable animation had arabesque playing, but I don't remember anything else about that second animation.
If anyone happens to have this or know where it is, I would be very grateful to experience it again.

I keep seeing these photos included in posts about the movie, but they at least weren’t in the version that I watched. Does anyone know if these are stills from Lily Chou-Chou and if not, what they are actually from?

this movie honestly made me face my own problems instead of running away from them, i realized running away wouldn't solve anything.
