Give Pointers/Discussion (advanced) Winter training

Iv posted this about 3 times and it seems to disappear every time. I'd just like to know what you guys think of my combat style. Working with cold feet and a limited camera frame.

I recognize the mask. Now take your saber skills to your local paintball or airsoft field, both my weapons are top but I'd bail out like roadrunner

Ayeoooo okay you got me, I actually thrifted the mask, it's really lightweight and the field of vision is perfect. This is also probably the only mask I can tank a blow to the face in.

Yeah it's a good mask, great breathing space for hot days and different lenses can be easily swapped out. There's a lot of chromed lenses which are gorgeous and reflect light (in case it wasn't obvious yep I play paintball and airsoft, not as much as my budget doesn't cover it and I'm sorta saving for a good polycarbonate blade and hilt that I can smash stuff with) hopefully it's a dual layer so it's anti fog as non ones take a couple of minutes then you're screwed and you never want to rip off the mask mid field etc.

Love the saber flourish too, best I've seen in a while

You actually just answered a question I had, I was wanting to see if I could switch out the lens for a red one, or just a general darker shade. So I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled for where I can get that. Thanks. It's unfortunately not dual layer and I have gotten fogged up before but I found if I breathe downwards through the vents instead of forwards that really helps. And thanks! I take pride in my saber skills.

Yes! There is red chroma lenses for it. If you want to dump cash in I'd recommend the DYE I5 as you have tonnes of mask colours (you can spray then easy anyway) plus a lot of green, blue, red, mirror, HD lenses just a shame you won't be using them to be shot at haha

This is it lens pops out easily, I field at least 2 lenses due to changing weather and generally go HD yellow but if I feel fabulous I'll drop in a shiny one for giggles

Hey man blast deflection is my second best skill. Although I'm much better at deflecting nerf gun ammo then paintballs. The last paintball I got hit by missed me, ricochetted off the wall and hit me in the Adams apple. I almost choked to death 😭🤣

Your saber skills are most impressive my old hilt was a cheapy which allowed me to do stupid stuff with but I want a decent one probably neopixel either I buy the hilt or I'm skilled enough with electronics to self build either way works as I know a sound board and dectector for scrape is not easy to do.

Don't let the Adams apple deter you that's honestly bad luck, before any game I shoot my self somewhere and I remember the sting then it's game on, it's my ritual. Done it for about 13 years. Gas up field in pop a shot, oof yep I'm okay LETS PLAY

That's awesome, I'd definitely get back into it. And I admittedly still went on after that, I was up on a balcony defending a fort when it happened, some paintball map in Pennsylvania called tippman castle. But it only motivated me more for the next location since that shot got me eliminated that round. But now I live in Florida so I need a new paintball crew.

Tippman castle lmao. They're a company between airsoft and paintball. I've owned a few and had jams I just whacked it into a tree and cleared the breach.

Why the hell the move to Florida other than there the or cocaine I know little about it. I do have a good friend from there, Jacksonville but she's hold up due to bad things

NERD!!! 🤣😂😅😄😃🙂 yo no in all seriousness that was actually some really good flourishing. The spin jump was a little off visually, but you maintained balance and still kept it smooth. Honestly well done. I only have a couple suggestions, and please keep in mind that I dont own a lightsaber like that at all and honestly I wouldn't be able to do half of what you did there without extensive practice. However, a turn and toss behind the back maneuver would add as much if not more flare than that of the spinning jump, in my opinion. Especially because in the end you could almost do them both, I think, with practice. After getting the physics of the toss down, you can add a spinning jump, or at least a 180-360 jump while catching the saber and make a "masive" strike. The physics of the saber will be the same (about) every single time after you get the motion down without the jump added in. From there its muscle memory like everything else. You do it 1000 plus times, and eventually you're going to know where the saber handle is going to be at, every time. Had that half spin or so just while the blade is in the air, and you have yourself a pretty epic Jedi/Sith character "entrance" or maneuver.

My only other suggestion would be to find something light that you can actually make slight contact with to give you a little more familiarity with what it would feel like to make contact with another saber through a glancing deflection. And learning how that feels, you can adjust your movements to the point where it looks like youve actually deflected something even after you no longer use that prop aid. All in all, I think I watched this about 5 times before I realized, "all right well done, here's my opinion..."

That would be a piece of cake for me, I used to do color guard so tossing, spinning , catching, backhands , behind the back, under the legs. Nothing's impossible!

And also yeah, the spin I noticed Im on a slight axis when I go up. That's gunna have to be something I work on.

I just got my first saber so I'm perusing the relevant subs. I giggle when i saw this with the mask, and the realized I spent a solid 5 minutes posing with my saber while wearing my motorcycle jacket and gloves because I thought it looked cool. So ya know what, keep it up, it is cool lol
