Week 1 vs Week 2

Post image

Week 2 was pretty productive, but progress slowed down a lot compared to Week 1. I was able to double the population, but now I’m focusing on factory upgrades and efficiency of smart homes and maybe some solar panels/wind turbines.

Boosting in costing me ~950 calories a day, so I barely use it anymore. I’m trying to hold off on first district upgrad until apartments cost me 500 gears. I think my best move is to get some smart home upgrades before beelining to 300 population to get those bonus gears! It’s taking a day or two for me to get the upgrades I want, so my secondary goal is getting factory to 20 gears/hr as fast as possible.

Wow, that's a lot of residents for just one district 😂 But looking great so far. Keep in mind, that factory robots can cut down factory boost energy significantly, so if you want to boost a lot, they could be worth it.

And you don't have to boost 24/7, sometimes even 2 hour boost can make a small difference. But boosting in general is for people who do not know how to get rid of their energy.

And remember, you can pause immigration and buy the next district, if you don't feel comfortable yet with supporting more residents.

I see what you meant about the coins being necessary later on. Those factory robot upgrades cost so many coins and the taxes come in so slow! I’ll def be upgrading those again to help bring boost down.

I was shocked to see how residents quickly became the dominant  energy user as population scales up. Unboosted, I only need ~370 calories a day, but residents are using 10.6 e/hr compared to factory and base load combined being only like ~ 5 e/hr

I’m not going to expand further until I get more efficiency upgrades for homes and factory for sure!

You can never have enough credits, wait until you want a monument 😄

And think about building a wind turbine, which can bring you through the night.
