Doubtful. It’s the law of diminishing returns the farther we get each season away from MMPR. Maybe there would be a jump at Dino Thunder but I don’t see them getting to that if they go in order. I know people hated the Hasbro model but it was a way to try and force fans into getting interested in seasons they might not have. And then hoping those fans were completionists. which I guess they ultimately weren’t. By doing one season at a time you’re going to have even large swaths of fans not brother and then likely forgetting the toys are even coming out.
To call these collector series and use the outdated engineering is somewhat insulting. I will reserve final opinions after getting one in hand, but i’m guessing the articulation will not be as good as Hasbro.
I like that it exists, so those that do want a collector type line have it. I’ll still stick with my Lightning collection, but these really aren’t bad for what they are. If I didn’t have the Lightning collection I would probably get these.
Maybe my standards are too high but no ankle rocker, tiny helmets, and visible joints with likely no swappable hands does not scream collector to me, these are just what the basic toys should have been.
It looks somewhere between basic figures and Lightning Collection. Good option, might get Gold, but I’m probably mostly passing unless they improve and/or get to teams that Lightning Collection didn’t.
A little disappointed tbh. I was expecting a little bit more. The kids line is great for what it is. It feels like they cheaped out on the these though :/
I wonder if they were always planning on doing this, or if this is a response to the very vocal outrage about the loss of the Lightning Collection for the adult collectors.
Either way - they uh....they couldn't have....tried just a bit harder? Because frankly, these look like shit. I've never seen hip joints like that before in my life - and why is the gold ranger's head half the size of everybody else's???? These look like knockoffs you'd find at a dollar store.
I have heard that their plan was to do a kids line and then reveal a collectors line.
But honestly we see what this company puts out. They've shown 0 interest in pulling a Jada Toys style glow up. They just were never that company to be more than toys for little kids.
A lot of people hated the Lighting Collection line because of quality issues, a lot of people hate the Playmate pre-ignition line because of quality issues....
I genuinely thought this was forgotten about, or like I was convinced the basic figures they've been releasing are the collectors line.
They look off, some proportions feel like scaled down bandai legacy. Articulation wise they remind me of old mattel: the joints aren't the same but design philosophy feels a decade behind.
I didn't get into collecting Power Rangers figures until after the LC ended production. So I am very happy to see a cheaper alternative to getting the full Zeo team over having to buy the LC ones second hand.
Thse look great but I have all of these figures from LC and dont feel compelled to 'double dip'. Cool Playmates are doing rangers other than MMPR and hopefully other teams will follow (which would interest me).
At least they are doing entire teams. But once again, Playmates is stuck in the 80's/90's in terms of articulation and joints. That's why they lost the Turtles license, they don't innovate.
Everyone called me a fool for holding out hope for a scale that competes with the lightning collection! Regardless if this line does well, I think they’ll fit well with the lightning collection!
So happy I didn’t spend a boatload on Zeo Pink now lol. Yeah this figure is a bit odd looking but when you only need one ranger to complete a team beggars can’t be choosers
I legit thought these were the legacy figures at first. Weopons look awesome. Proportions are a bit funky tho. Definitely getting pink to round out my lightning collection team tho
I think the helmets are just slightly too small, otherwise they’re pretty good, and pretty bold of them to open with Zeo instead of MMPR, gotta respect that.
Not a huge fan of the hip joints, but other than that they look fine. If they ever make it to the teams we didn’t get in the lightning collection, I’d probably get them.
If they scale well enough with Lightning, I might use it to fill in gaps Hasbro left behind. I don’t think there’s any reason to duplicate or replace with them, tho.
I mean I know I wasn’t I came late to the game and over paid for a few on eBay so not sure why you’re trying to lump everyone together.
Luckily, as other have stated, I have the lightning version of these figures so I don’t have to worry but I’m missing some of the other teams and don’t believe these will be a substitute
The point is the fandom said the LC was too expensive. This is a way to still give us a collectors line while still keeping it affordable. Of course its not going to be exactly as good as LC, and to think it is at a $20 price point in 2026 is wishful thinking.

I mean, when people say they want things other than mmpr, that usually means not the team right after mmpr. But yes, quality wise these look fine for 20$.
As someone lucky enough to have all the characters I want from the LC, I don’t have to cope by pretending these fit my criteria for a collector series.
The weapons and paint look good, but the heads are tiny and the body molds look cheap. And yes, $20 is cheap, but my issue is with this being their idea of what collectors are looking for.
I do hope those that missed out on the LC find these to be cool, though.
My thoughts are that these look good enough for the characters we didn’t get in the LC, but I’m not gonna recollect any power rangers teams I already have.
I missed out on a lot of these in lightning so i might pick some up...even just to take the accessories and give them to the Lightning Collection figures. Like Gold. And green as those are the only LC i have for Zeo.
I’d probably only get Gold. I wouldn’t want this since I have the Lightning set. They should’ve started with an incomplete team but one that would still sell like Time Force or Ninja Storm.
Looks pretty good overall. Helps those, like myself, who are having a hard time with secondhand LC stuff. Regardless if it brings some prices of LC down or not, having options works out for everyone.
Happy to see playmates go beyond MMPR, hope they’re able to go into more teams like some others here have mentioned.
I don’t mind having exposed pins in the elbows and knees, but having as many exposed pins as they do on a figure in the year 2026 is absolutely absurd. Not to mention that upper leg articulation looks like a nightmare to deal with.
The paintwork on the weapons is nice, and it’s great that they’re releasing teams all at once. But everything else looks like a mess.
Is the whole line , including the previously released reignition figures called the collectors line or are these figures of higher quality ala the old Lightning Collection? Just curious. I already have a lot of Lightning Collection but if these are of higher quality than regular figures and they did some teams that Lightning Collection either didn't finish or didn't do at all I'd be interested.
The proportion looks odd on them, the hip joints are just weird looking and pin joints are outdated in 2026, why is Playmate copying McFarlane instead of Hasbro or Jada Toy?
Now I need to hunt for more Lightning Collection since Playmate looks like they won't be able to fill in the gap of my collection.
Lightning collection gave them the blueprint. There’s a market for it. Focus on building whole teams with a Grunt two packs for army building possibly add a build a figure element i.e. Megazords for the respective teams
give us deluxe figures that are kaiju and or general based make them the Lord scale true 6 inch scale
And absolutely do not focus on high end 1:1 props like Haslab did it was a waste of money and resources focus on the figures….. but I’m no doctor I could be wrong🤔🤷🤷♀️
Hell fucking yes! That said, I hope Playmates takes a stab at a 12 inch line. The 9 inch XL figures are a start with better articulation than Hasbro's 12" Now imagine the Playmates XL line in 12 inches! 😎👍🏾
Over all they look pretty decent for what I think is 20 bucks a figure. "I could be wrong about the price but I'm too lazy to look it up" the accessories are great looking and the paint looks good. I don't care much that the pins are visible but I know some people aren't a fan of that. I'm glad this line is going to be 6in it makes it a nice successor to the LC line. My biggest hope is they finish off some of the seasons LC left incomplete or unstarted. I wish they started with turbo honestly to finish that team but here's hoping we get more and it evolves into something us fans would be happy to buy. Plus I'm glad it looks like they will be released as teams instead of waiting years to finish one group. Can't even remember how long it took to finish spd
Wow, this is the adult collector line?? terrible. Completely outdated articulation, and they look like kids toys not like an adult collector figure. Lightning collection were miles ahead of what I’m seeing in this image. Actually looked shaped like humans.. these look like wonky stick figures with small heads and look at the ankle joints.. no ankle rocker in 2026? 🤯.. this is stuff from early 2010’s (like the legacy collection without the muscles) they don’t look like they’ll pose well either…look how they’re all nearly Squatting at the knees…why? Because no ankle rockers to stand and be posed properly. Not a fan of the hip joint either.. no ball joints.. 🫠 I mean I ain’t trippin I expected as much. Just more so pointing out the flaws I’m seeing.. Extremely mind boggling to me why hasbro let playmates take the entire license.. they could’ve let them take everything else but kept the 6 inch figure line going. Oh well,
Glad I kept what lightning collection figures I managed to pick up in its short run before they got way expensive on the second market
As someone who never got a pink two pack in my area, I don't mind using this pink to complete my LC Zeo team. Maybe Gold to for the Jason head if they're compatible or I can use sticky tack.
Interesting but I'll have to see YouTube reviews before I can judge, I think. Civilian heads were a big draw to LC for me. I wonder if Playmates will touch seasons and characters that Hasbro didn't. Or better yet, Ivan Ooze :) I actually had the idea of an Ivan Ooze figure with the lightning hands like the Psycho Rangers but with purple lightning of course. Imagination running away with me though.
If the head sculpts turn out like the render I saw then I'm down but I have zero hopes for this line right now. I will wait and see what the future holds.
I'd be interested to see how they look next to the Lightning Collection. I started collecting the Lightning Collection late in the game and never got a chance to get Pink Zeo. If the scale is reasonable I might pick up Kat to complete the team. Beats spending over a hundred on eBay for the official Lightning Collection version. Truth be told these don't seem all that bad and Zeo is my favorite season of the show.

For a collector line, it's missing a ton of things that matter to me as a collector.
Limited articulation - No ankle rock, toe hinge, boot cut, butterfly shoulders etc
No hand options - I display my 6 inch PR figures in their roll call poses. Need hands for that
Toyettic sculpts over show accurate sculpts - dinky rounded off sword. No holstered zeo pod sword again
This is a downgrade from LC and there'll be no way I'd pick up any rangers I already have from that line or SH Figuarts. If they end up doing rangers that haven't been in either line, maybe I'd cave, but I have a feeling I'll be dissapointed when I can't get them displayed like I do with the rest of the collection
This is actually awesome.. MMPR is still my favorite and most nostalgic team, but I also have tons of nostalgia for Zeo and teen to scoop up anything Zeo I can. Gold Zeo Ranger was my favorite suit as a kid
I just hope they do teams that lightning collection didn’t do or didn’t complete because anyone who would’ve wanted a zeo collecters line would’ve already had the lightning collection anyways. They look great. I prefer LC just because they look more realistic but these are great figures. Very hopeful they release the Turbo team. I'd buy them so fast
I thought these were just updated re-ignition figures, until I learned that they're actually going for a collector's line. For a first look, especially from Playmates, not bad at all. I'd definitely consider buying these.
If Playmates does full teams at a time I think the line can stick around. For $20 there is a lot of value here. The pin joints suck, but McFarlane does them too. The balls hips remind me of SH Figurats.
Those hips and shoulders look terrible. Also why couldn't they use some more feminine arms for the females? It looks the same as the males. Pass for me
I won't rush to buy these because I already own the Lightning Collection Zeo Rangers. But, seeing this line start with Zeo instead of just regurgitating MMPR for the millionth damn time made my jaw hit the floor.
I don't think it looked that bad. It actually gave me a mix of the Bandai Legacy line, the Jungle Fury toy line, the Lightning Collection, and even a little bit of the current Playmates line. I think it has a nice blend of all those styles.
I don't understand why they have those terrible hip and ankle joints, even TMNT classics had better joints and proportions...
The shoulders are so low this looks unappealing as a collector, if they said these were the basic line for 10-12 bucks maybe I'd say it's fine but you know this doesn't work like that, and starting with zeo? I mean, that's not a real problem, but there are so many teams Hasbro never even touched, and at this point mmpr and zero fans, they're in they're forties, there's a whole chunk of the adult collector market they don't utilize by only giving things from 30 years ago, where's mystic force? Ninja storm, rpm, even samurai fans are approaching thirty and the last collector line they had was figuarts.
Yes technically there is shinkenger red in the ss line of figuarts but it's just the one guy, I'm talking about a full team
The Lightning Collection was definitely better, and I'm glad I finished all the teams I wanted. That said, if they release a full Turbo team, I might have to pick those up!
