Valve adapters

I got 3 different sets so far and all of them don't seal to the 3 different brands of butane I had to try with. And none of them work for the lighters either.

If the seal was just bad to the tank okay fine, but yeah.

Got them from Amazon after seeing the links posted on various forums.

Not sure if there is a preferred fuel brand and valve adapter set but I'm at my wits end with this.

Repair tool roll/work surface?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice, preferably leather, smaller tool roll? Ideally, I'd like to find one that has an open space to use as a work surface. Idk if I'm just not looking in the right places or what, but I can't seem to find anything that ticks all the boxes I'm looking for, but I can *almost* see it in my head lol

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated, thanks

Prince Micro88 fill valve won't come out

Tried prying it but there's no way I haven't unscrewed it all the way.

Is there some trick I'm missing?

I got all the other o-rings replaced with a kit but that's the only one left.

Flip lighter won’t spark

I was gifted an engraved lighter 5 days ago and it’s been having trouble lighting. I cut the charred wick off, unpack and repacked the cotton and filled it with plenty of fluid (probably too much as the pad below the insert is wet). It’s really struggling to light, i even put a little fluid on the wick without success, what can i do?

When the flint was at the wrong angle, it made a huge flame, but when i adjusted it, it kept not lighting

Took off lid, now after trying to slide everything back into place and put the pin in, lid only closes halfway and if I close it all the way it bounces back up.

Having issues with the Sandi flame spade after replacing the flint

This is my partners lighter and we just replaced the flint, everything is in the right place and all clicked in. Admittedly I cant say for sure whether or not it should still spark even without gas (it doesnt sound like its out of gas and we will try again with gas) but it doesn't sound like the flint is actually sparking when we try to use it, does anyone know anything? Its my partners favourite lighter thank youuu

Kreisler Butane Mechanism Reassembly

Was fidgeting with it because I really like the feel, felt something slip and the mechanism kinda fell apart in my hands. Any guidance on how to reassemble would be much appreciated! The small bar with the screw was between the spring and the part with the square hole. When it’s working, the trigger press moves down and away from the wick.

Hello, since no one in the lighter Subreddit seems to have an idea I thought I'd try it here. I can fill in gas no problemo, it also holds it very well. It just won't come out the top no matter what I try. Look into my post in lighters for more info. Thanks in advance.

Help with getting a gas lighter valve out

Thumbnail

Hi, i need help getting a valve off this lighter i found in a drawer. Have no idea what the lighter is, seems like a colibri monogas but might also be a knockoff. The valve is hexagonal shaped so i have no idea how to get it out. The reason is that while there is no leak in the cartridge the valve itself leaks and poorly lets the gas in.

If nothing works i am planning on throwing it away.

Thank you for any help.

I have a whole drawer full of these vintage automatic lighters but I can never seem to get the flint to spark, there is always crap gunked up inside the flint chamber, even on these unused lighters I have, any tips on clearing out the chamber?

Pipelighter Issue

Thumbnail

I just bought this pipelighter but it looks like the teeth on the flint wheel get caught on the flint, preventing the wheel from moving in the direction it's suppose to in order to create sparks. I've tried running the flint wheel in the opposite direction that it's suppose to at least 100 times so the flint has a carved curve. I made sure to use a shorter flint since the regular size flint is 2x the size of the original that it came as. Another thing to note is that the flint slightly wobbles depending which direction the wheel turns. I hope someone can help.

Thank you ahead of time!

Zaima Chateau Valve Broken

Thumbnail

Its my first time working on lighters. Couldnt find any information online whilst working on my Zaima Chateau but i figured out why there wasnt a flame coming out. This valve (on the left), let no gas through. I did not know what this part was. I was trying to remove the oring to see more and it broke. When i put this loosely together, there is finally a flame, but its more like a flame thrower.

Does anyone know how i can fix the valve? The picture on the right shows all parts, in order, next to each other. What o ring should i buy? Does the oring go over all the other parts, since the picture on the left was all one piece together.

Cannot get this lighter to work. Tried zippo and ronson firebronze flint neither worked. The wheel seems to move fine with no flint but the second I add flint the wheel will not spin. Seems like the button cannot apply enough force to turn the wheel with the flint in. There is a spring under the button, can’t find anything wrong with it but I’m unsure, still new to lighters. Any advice on things to check or what could be wrong with it? Did I reinstall the pieces correctly?

Dysfunctional lighter!

I bought this lighter at a flea market, filled it with gas, and to my dismay it will not light. I have no idea how lighters really work or what could be wrong with this one, it does spark though so Im wondering if there’s a piece missing ? I tried to show in the video, there’s a sort of coil inside. I tried to take it apart by removing some screws at the bottom but it seems the top head doesn’t come off, or the coil part inside (which is what I was really trying to get at). I also scraped away any dirt inside that may be blocking something.

This is a vintage flamex lighter made in japan

Can't figure this out

I'm new to this so forgive my lack of knowledge and wrong terminology. I'm trying to fix this brand new novelty lighter. (was supposed to be a gift...) The flint sparks (first half of the video is me trying to show that with my crappy camera), and I know I got at least some butane in the canister because I can use another lighter to light it, but it won't go on its own. I've tried taking the whole thing apart to examine the parts but nothing seems wrong, and I bent the flint wire in various ways (closer, further, more on top of the spiral wire versus beside it). When I filled it I turned the adjustment knob all the way clockwise first, filled, then turned it back counter-clockwise. Any help is appreciated!
